I found this electric "so called" supercharger that installs over your ram air or cold air intake (Volant/K&N/etc.) and supposedly is universal to all autos. It may be worth checking out as it says it adds 15-25HP.

dont bother, absolute crap

250 cfm... hell a human blowing real hard does more than that.
this would be a restriction. its basically a "hamster cage" blower. most often found in car A/C systems.

On the web site they boast 250cfm like it is a substantial amount

I don't think it will work. The CMS electric SC uses two extra Optima Yellow Top batteries in the trunk to fire the SC for 15 seconds. Then the have to recover before the next burst. A single car battery couldn't handle that drain. At high RPMs this system probably becomes an obstruction to the air flow. It would also have to be out of the main stream air flow under normal driving too. You should pass on this deal IMO.

just searching for all the CTS owners that are looking for more power, thats all. Some of it is miss and real junk I agree. I have the RSm intake and would never add this to it, although some of us are looking for that extra HP and who knows, maybe someone will try this.

Kael, what setup is on your CTS:)

i hvae the 3.6L and i added the volant. i put some rubber washers in there to stop the acrylic top from vibating, it really makes the engine growl when i hit it.

what amazed me was when i took out the stock airbox, its thirty pounds of sound muffler and only a three inch inlet to a panel filter (it only uses three inches of the damned filter, mine was dirty, it had three inch circle on it where the air actually flowed through)

the other part that amazed me was that the MAF was not a part of the throttle body like all other GM cars I have encountered. a design like this really lends itself to a boosted application as the best way to meter air is to use the MAF as a draw through type. this thing is easy in that it is its own seperate unit and easily moveable. i slo liked the extended honeycomb, its good and thick, what this does is make the air coherent, no turbulence to throw off the readings and it greatly reduces the "splash" affect. coherent air will go around a 90 degree bend instead of hitting it and going nuts everywhere. I have to find a movie of it being done with water (another fluid like air) when renedered coherent and then shot out like a fountain when it landed it just pooled, no splash at all, it was erie, then a reasearcher showed it was so coherent that it could transmit light

tom knights ESC (he made it, invented it etc, found at www.boosthead.com (http://www.boosthead.com))
that was featured in this article : http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0406tur_knight/
(if you look for the original thread on the ESC on this forum, and one of my first posts, you will see that the posted images come from this article or the boosthead site.)

is a neat idea, he uses three electric motors to drive a roots blower (hey, he has updates on his site, a centrifugal one is now available) the problem is that it requires a tonne of juice to run it, like 3 or so batteries in the trunk. the advantages are almost negated because of all the added weight and cost. the sytems run in the $1500 -2000 range and only last for bursts of about 15 seconds.
better results can be had with a much cheaper nitrous system that would be lighter and operate in much the same way. but the ESC would not have to be refilled of course.

Anyone look around that site, they sell alot of crap that wont add any preformance. They do for cars what lisa frank did for notebooks make everything bright and colorful but no real added bonus.
