Question: I have a 2003 3.2L CTS. I have a friend who has a 2005 CTS V exhaust system. Would it be benneficial to have this installed upon my CTS and what would the benefits be?

Better sound, better looks, maybe 1-3 HP gain. Lots of people do it.

I currently have 1 pipe out the back, would I need a new valance to compensate for the 2 pipes?

Cost about $70 for the install. Whats your deal on the V Exhaust? Free to $75 are common. I paid $30 for mine.

You should go over to the V Forum and start a thread requesting a V exhaust in AZ. That's how I found mine.

It seems that most use heavy paper or cardboard to make a template from the left side then flip it over to cut the right side using a Dremel (or similar type of) tool.

$500 is a rip. $100 max.

Install was $100, plus parts $25 - so total installed around $150....

As Robert pointed out, best way is to go to the V-forum and ask if anyone in your area has one they want to part with, also there is a complete write up of the install and parts needed on Reed's FAQ site....

I did mine not too long ago, well I think it was my third day on the forum :rolleyes: and now can't stop coming back for more..... :want: it's like a drug!!! :alchi:

Mine was from the DEALER an 05 from the GM's fathers V. It had about 100 miles on it. My cost $100!!!. The guy selling for $500 is looking for a sucker! Please don't be one. Post on the V forum as suggested. You shouldn't have to wait long.

I got mine for $100 and paid $80 for the install.

I got mine for $30. Pay no more than $100 unless you've got the bread to throw away. Offer them 1/2 or $150. That's high but AZ might be tough to find another one.

Yeah, much over a $100 is not worth it. When my lease is up in a year I will have a B&B to sell. It sure makes the V sound mean and the pipes look nice too.
I have seen a couple CTS's in my area with a V exhaust and they look nice, go for it.
