It's called the RDS message. If you press the tune button in then scroll down and press RDS message, it will appear again. If you want to look at it more often, assign it to one of your programmable buttons on the DIC.

Isn't it only select radio stations that provide this feature? Some give you their nick name, like "The Blitz" or "Sunny 95". Some stations, maybe most, have nothing to show.

I feel like most stations in my area have the feature. Sometimes it displays what song, sometimes what radio show, sometimes station nick name, it all seems random. Even the same staions...one day it will be the artist, the next day it will be the first word or two of the title, next day it will say sometingh random

Yep, that's correct. Larger metro areas seem to have more RDS messages than smaller markets. Q101 up here in chicago only says "Q101" on the message, but there's another station that shows the name of the song. It's hit and miss...

A frustration for me when I had the stock radio/CD was that the RDS display is a single line so if the station was sending artist name and song name only part of the complete text would be displayed. Luckily, the nav displays multiple lines of RDS info, yet another reason to upgrade.

I have one of my DIC buttons to toggle between Time and RDS. However, if I toggle to RDS it will display for only a few seconds and then revert back to the time. Is it possible to set it so when I toggle to RDS it will stay that way until I toggle back to time?

HEY NOW!!! I like DSM! Hows your commute Chi?? Couple hours each way? Mine is 10 minutes. Also, hows your gun collection?? Oh yeah, Chicagoans cant have guns! HEHE, a lil ribbing is always fun! Iowans cant drive for shit mostly. I find my middle finger raised quite often!

Geez, Nick, I'm a displaced (maybe misplaced...:) ) old Iowa farm boy, but I still run through Des Moines now & then. Last I recall, the population is about 200K. The whole state shelters a bit less than 3 mil. Guess you're figuring in the burbs, such as they are - maybe Ankeny & Ames as well? Those two add around 60K. Whatever...:thumbsup:

Nah, my drive is only 4.2 miles and 10 minutes. I got lucky with my new job. It used to be an hour each way.
