I have a 2003 CTS with no power at the front cigarette lighter and no power on the OBD-II connector. The cig light I can do without, but I need to use the OBD-II port.

The previous owner installed a remote starter and XM. So I'm wondering if he's screwed things up, or is there just a circuit breaker gone bad.

I don't have a wiring diagram.

1) Does the circuit breaker under the hood for ACC, power both of these items (and so I can guess that its bad)?

2) If someone has a wiring diagram, can you provide any insight on what I might check out?

3) Do you know where to get a wiring diagram or shop manual for a reasonable amount?

THANKS a bunch!

ChecK the fuses, they should have the diagram under the top of the fuse box. There might be one in the faq's section. This would be a good and easy place to start, since both might be on the same circuit. A wire grounding onto metal could be another.

Already checked the fuses. There's not one listed for the cigarette lighter. There is a circuit breaker for ACC, which the manual says includes the cigarette lighter. I guess the circuit breakers are supposed to reset automatically(?) because there aren't any instructions on resetting them, and I don't see anything on them to reset them. So do I replay it?

I guess I'll have to go crawl under the dash and see what I see. I'm getting to old for this (and still too cheap to pay a Cadillac dealer).

Pretty much industry standard is for the cigarette lighter and the OBDll plug to share a fuse.

Sorry!, forget to welcome you to the board. Did you check the fuses under the rear seat?(so says the owners manuel) Most forget that their there. Sounds like you checked up front under hood.

Got it solved!
There is a fuse - IP/Outlet 20AMP under the hood. That's the one.
I didn't orginally think it was, because there's another one lable Outlet 30AMP.
That's the rear outlet. Now why the heck the put a 30AMP cicuit to the back and a 20 AMP circuit for the front outlet AND the IP etc. is beyond me. I thought cigarette lighters were always 30AMP.. NOT in a CTS, they power the cig lighter and IP off a 20 AMP. dumb IMHO.

Thanks for the help!!!
