Hangers and spacers? Got part numbers by any chance? FlyFlip420 04-25-06, 10:52 PM I'm not sure how different the install process was on yours, but the part numbers I had picked up from my dealership were the bracket (part #25755350 $14.68 - this bracket is for the left side and I was told they didn't have a part like that for the 03 for the right side) and the Rubber Insulator (Part #25726418 $5.04 each - need 2)...... they also had to cut a piece of metal from under the car where the end bracket goes (easy cut).... and once they placed it there the left and right side looked even.... it might not look like so in the photos but that's to do with the cut in the bumpper.... I might decide to fix that one day by cutting more of the bumpper on the right side, but honestly I don't think I need to and it doesn't bother me that much.... from a previos thread...thanks to kalicts kali_cts03 04-26-06, 01:11 AM I finally got my new (used, new to me) V-Exhaust. Yah!!! :highfive: On Reed's FAQ site is a write up of the procedure with pics, here is the link: http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/vexh-base/index.html When you do the pics for this, snap some of the "Blue Interior Lighting" you have, would like to see how that looks  day and night shots would be nice  Good luck on the install, shouldn't be a problem!!! RobertCTS 04-26-06, 05:07 AM I was able to reuse my rubber insulators. If you don't get the hanger they can fabricate one for you. It will be interesting to hear from you and its application to the 2.8 engine. Did you have fun hauling that big a$$ exhaust?:) estrivera 04-26-06, 07:12 AM Yah!!! :highfive: When you do the pics for this, snap some of the "Blue Interior Lighting" you have, would like to see how that looks  day and night shots would be nice  The shop doing the exhaust told me that they did one for another cts before so he already know how to do it. During the day the lights dont illuminate much and at night the lights are not as bright as the stock ones. You can see enough for reading and such but they dont bother for driving. They do give out a nice glow. Since i got my tint all the way around you can turn the interior lights at night but from the outside you can't tell the lights are on because of them being blue. estrivera 04-26-06, 07:14 AM I was able to reuse my rubber insulators. Did you have fun hauling that big a$$ exhaust?:) Yeah it was fun hauling it. I do construction work so i have a work van and it was no problem hauling it. It sure is big. LOL B Hoth 04-26-06, 10:35 PM But it sounds sooooo gooood!! estrivera 04-28-06, 10:13 AM But it sounds sooooo gooood!! Hell yeah it does. I love it just had it done this morning to my 2.8. It does have a way deeper humming sound and you can feel a difference when driving it or in my case gunning it. LOL  Everybody with a 2.8 feel free to do it too. I love it. (plus is a very inexpensive mod) I got the exhaust for $100 and paid $80 for the install. Not bad in my book. I got to go to work now but i'll post the pics later on this afternon or tonight. I LOVE THIS FORUM. Thanks. By mid month i'll have my V-sways on also. I can't wait. TagApl4 04-28-06, 10:22 AM Anybony have input on what is the best exhaust system for an 2006 3.6L 6 spd mannual I want alot of power and alot of sound. The Borla & Corsa for the 3.6. CMS Headers & Cats if you can get'em. Maybe add an x-pipe. The chics will hear you comin' Dude:bouncy: cts-v05 05-07-06, 06:07 PM How much of a difference between the V exhaust and Corsa. I'm a newbie with a 2006 3.6L CTS and am interested in hearing a nicer humming to her....Are the install complicated? If you have the parts numbers for the V exhaust it is appreciated ? The Corsa and Borla have a much more aggressive(louder) sound but also produce more HP gains than the V exhaust. But its $125 vs $900.. You will definitley like the Borla then, Billy Boats are screamers at full steam as well. Just check out the threads either here or on the V forum. bdrex28 05-07-06, 11:14 PM Do the Corsa and Borla have a deeper sound or are they more "ricey"? Yes, I'm dumb, but what's the X-pipe do? RobertCTS 05-08-06, 05:00 AM Do the Corsa and Borla have a deeper sound or are they more "ricey"? Yes, I'm dumb, but what's the X-pipe do? Yes, deeper and louder. Want rice? Replace your resonator with an x-pipe like I did. One week later I removed it and replaced it with a V resonator. X-pipes balance the two banks of you V6 engine and eliminate any muffling. Sorta like a gutted resonator. bdrex28 05-08-06, 07:31 AM So basically if I want a deeper sounding exhaust go with Borla/Corsa and for more add the V-Resonator. Is this correct? I do NOT want a ricey sound, that reminds of the civic drivers in their street racers. pmpott 05-08-06, 07:54 AM From what I understand the resonater quiets the sound a bit, it does not make it louder bdrex28 05-08-06, 07:55 AM Ok, so no resonator, just Corsa/Borla. I think I'm leaning towards the Corsa but it will be a few months. I've only had the car about 4 days, haha. RobertCTS 05-08-06, 08:38 AM Ok, so no resonator, just Corsa/Borla. I think I'm leaning towards the Corsa but it will be a few months. I've only had the car about 4 days, haha. You have to have a balancing source beteen the two exhausts. A resonator does that and so does the x-pipe. Without this your exhaust will cackle and pop like a redneck pickup truck. The x-pipe does nothing to reduce noise but a resonator will. Borla provides their own resonator. Corsa does not. The Corsa is approved and endorsed by GM. To improve on my OEM resonator I elected to add the CTS-V resonator. It has a 2 1/2" intake. The Corsa uses 2 1/4" pipes and slips perfectly inside the V resonator. It should flow much better than the original one. Does this make sense?:hmm: | |
