I used to have an '88 Brougham with the 307 Olds engine. I am familiar with this engine's tendancy to leak coolant at the intake manifold coolant crossover where it joins the cylinder head.

I now have a '92 Brougham with the 305 Chevrolet engine. Does this engine have the same tendancy to leak coolant at the intake manifold ? If so, is the leak usually first noticed as an external leak, and is there any one place most likely to start showing a leak first ?

They tend to leak where the head and intake come together near #1 cylinder and #8 cylinder. That's the driver's side front and pass side rear of the engine. It's a very common leak on a car that's over 10 years old using low-tech gaskets. HTH.
