My son just bought a nice '92 Deville, 4.9 L with 101K miles and in what appears to be good shape. After several days, it started to just about die when he turned a sharp corner. The dash lights up and it sputters a little, it actually did quit once. other than that it runs great. It starts right back up if it does quit with no problems. Anyone have any experience wlike this or any insight?

sounds like a fuel problem. how many gallons did you have in it when it died? could be the fuel pump going. have you changed the fuel filter?

Common problem on the early 90's Devilles. The tank baffles are either broken or none existant (I forget which). When you make a turn, the fuel sloshes away from the pump pick up and the pump sucks air. You have two choices, replace the tank or (my favorite) don't let it get below 1/4 tank.

Check the fuses and see if any that relate to the fuel system are blown. My 91 deville does that and it has a fuse blown for four of the injectors. The power steering load can kill it if its running on 4 cylinders.(I learned from the wise Ranger)
