I just bought a 1991 Seville with a 4.9 . When in heavy traffic the water temp goes up to 226 degrees ? Does the car have a two stage colling fan ?

FYI - 226 degrees is within the normal operating temperature range for your engine. 185F TO 23OF is considered normal.

Northstar fans have 2 speeds. I am not positive about the 4.9 but I think they do as well.
