I need a little advice on my 85 Coupe DeVille 4100 with 79000 miles.
This car has been very well maintained but recently I found the #3 cylinder is getting coolant in the cylinder. This appears to be the only cylinder getting coolant in it. I am going to change the head gasket but I have a few questions you may be able to help me with. First off is that I am selling this car after I do the head gasket because I no longer need 5 cars with only 3 drivers in the family. My questions are:

Do I have to send the head(s) out to machine shop to be checked?

Do I have to replace head bolts?

Do I have to replace (two)both head gaskets?

Keeping in mind I am selling the car, I'm not out to screw the buyer but I also don't want to put more work into it than I have to.

Thanks for the help

Don't take this as gospel, but when I replaced the head gaskets on a 4.1, I reused the head bolts. I know you can't on a Northstar, but the 4.1 is no Northstar. I did both sides (figures if one is bad, the other can't be in much better shape). Did not send the heads to a machine shop.
