I'm not into touch screen systems. Your screen ends up damaged after a short time and you are constantly cleaning the fingerprints off. Damage is even more evident if your girlfriend has long nails.
The rest of your list sounds great. I would like to see an automatic in the V series. ChicagoCTS32 04-20-06, 09:40 PM If all that crap made it into the CTS as options, it would be $50k... Way cool, but way expensive. The heated/cooled cupholders are a bit much. Those engine HP wishes are astronomical. 2.8L @ 220, 3.6L @ 260, and a 4.0L @ 300 is more realistic. The V will sit around 400, and the SuperV will be 500.
Another contradiction is adding all of that power stuff as well as losing a couple of hundred pounds.
Neat list anyway. Thanks! Falkolade 04-20-06, 10:03 PM ummm... i think the dream v would be 60g... lets keep it real... gm wants it to start at under 30g... there is no way a third of that will be standard... but you can hope its optional! I'd like a factory JL Audio, MB Quart, or similar audio upgrade (non-paper cones please) HID upgrade to 6k or 8k bulbs, LED interior lighting (check out a DTS at night - WOW) MikeB066 04-20-06, 11:24 PM A lot of items on that list are convenience items. Sure, they would be nice to have, but I am not going to buy a car or turn away from it because suddenly I have cooled cup holders. The biggest improvement that can be made in the '08 CTS is more locking storage space. There is simply not enough storage space in the CTS right now. Ideally, the car would have at least enought storage space to fit a large hardcover novel securely.
I applaud the idea of cooled seats because the summers in Houston suck! Even if it was an additional $1,000 option, I would have happily paid it. Most of the time, I park in covered parking of one sort or another, but when I don't I regret is immediately upon entering the car.
I would also like to see paddle controls for the manumatic transmission, more power from the 3.6 engine with better fuel economy, and a hand brake just so I can have too much fun doing bootleg turns when I don't need to. Definitly a hand brake where it belongs, center console! Rear seat A/C vents!
I can't believe a Cadillac without rear passenger vents. I don't even care if they have their own climate control, just pipe some air down the center console to the people in the back. A real Sport suspension for the 3.6L. Kick those nivomats to the curb... I want some Koni's or Bilstines. Real sway bars not these whimpy things.. peccles 07-03-06, 12:40 PM If by adjustable suspension you mean magnetic ride control, then I'm all for it. Maybe the suspension choices should be base, magnetic ride control, and magnetic ride control sport with allows a sport setting like the F55 optin on the Corvette. Rear passenger A/C ducts are a must. The stereo should be improved to have HD radio, play MP3s (CDs or DVDs), front of head unit aux input, play DTS, Dobly 5.1 and DVD-A music DVDs.
The Nav option should be for a built in Nav screen or N years of OnStar with Nav. AznPrydeRegalRyde 07-03-06, 02:46 PM Rear seat A/C vents!
I can't believe a Cadillac without rear passenger vents. I don't even care if they have their own climate control, just pipe some air down the center console to the people in the back. The CTS does have rear air vents, but they're under the seats.
needed items : awd
coupe
bluetooth
mp3
aux inputs on dash
centre consol hand-brake
thicker steering wheel WITHOUT having to get wood (slippery) premium stereo thats NOT BOSE , lol
A/C'ed seats (save money versus cooled seats)
give regular CTS the speedo/tach screen thats in between, so we can have the TPM with NAV. I'm glad you clarified that it does had vents. I went and started 're up and felt under there. There is some air coming from under the seats.
Let me revise my 2 cents to request VISIBLE rear vents. :)
<looking forward to my lease being up just in time for 2008 new model> Hopefully new "Sport" edition is available w/ 400hp and tiptronic (auto) tranny and up the V to 505hp. bob the builder 07-03-06, 04:50 PM ah man, that list sounds so sweet ILLMATIK 07-03-06, 05:45 PM :crybaby:  These are my realistic and perfectly feasible wishes for the 08
1. Nicer 17 or 18 inch Wheels, those stock 16's are 2 small for the car and their ugly to top it off.
2. Something to hook the ipod into, Acura has the "ACURA LINK" in the TL and its way cool.
3. A freakin glove compartment !!!
4. Brembo 4-piston Brake calipers
5. Heated AND cooled seats
6. More fuel efficiency, those EPA estimates are way off. If i didnt know any better i'd think i was driving an escalade *about 10 mpg, 70% city 30% highway:confused: *
7. Add all of the above and put it in a COUPE and you have a winner! We had a whishlist before... but here we go again. I want to be realistic and stick to the segment of the CTS. So my whishlist will not be that astronomical:
- nicer interior (will be fulfilled)
- glovebox (I saw they altered the 06 over the 03)
- standard 18" wheels
- a smooth big turbo diesel for Europe (all its competition has diesel too)
- a little more freedom in tuning and customizing
- more engine efficiency
- (much!) lower service costs + Cadillac loaner
- free yearly update of the NAV-DVD!
- more advanced audio system with mp3, showing CD and track names, and hands-free phone option (the BLS has it).
- standard xenon lights
- I hate the rain sensor, because I use rain-X or similar of the like
- coupe
- convertible
- side mirror dimming
I can't think of any more compared with my 06. I think my list sums up what it at least needs to compete with its competition. vireXtyle 07-04-06, 07:12 AM They got a little bit carryed away, dont they? with all the standard and optional stuff it would cost like Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7... :) | |
