ok started the cadillac up well i smell like something is burning but brake fluid was all over the exhause intake manifold cause that make it smell like something burning or what should i check for?

Had you tracked down the odor, you would have saved yourself a lot of aggravation. Remove the carpets and put them out to dry, otherwise they will mildew. If you rent a carpet cleaner, you can use the hand wand to clean them and also deodorize them at the same time. Do it now, because later is going to be too late. Once they carpet starts to develop mildew, it is very hard to remove, if not impossible. Then remove the seat and analyze the damage. It might not be as bad as you think. some burned wires and possibly the relay will need to be replaced. Depending on the year of the car, you can probably find the parts at the local salvage yard. Not all years seat mechanisms are the same, so make sure that you find the correct parts. | |
