hey guys, i have just a smidgeon of a problem with my 99 sls on start up. when it starts, it stutters big time, RPMs reading about 1000-1400. but if i give it some throttle, to about 3k for about 5-7 seconds it stops and runs great. IT ONLY DOES THIS from a cold start-up. never in the middle of driving or a warm start up. it worries me, though, cuz the whole car shakes real bad.
could it be a fuel filter? i have already replaced the FPR and wires/plugs, just 10k miles ago. what else would make it stutter on start up?

Fuel filter is not likely.

Start it for just a few seconds. Stop it and pull the plugs. See if there is oil, gas, anti-freeze, or black carbon on one or two. That will give you the clue as to the next step.

whoa. anti-freeze would be pretty serious would it? and isn't black carbon pretty common?
but i'll check on the plugs
