Falken just released their FK-452's. I had the FK-451's which were VERY close to the GS D3's. The 452's are supposed to be light years ahead. Here's a link:

http://www.fk452.com/technicalinfo.html

Treadwear 300
Traction AA
Temperature A
Speed Rating - ZR

These are available at TireSavings.com

245/45/18 = $148
255/45/18 = $179

I already ordered mine for my SRT.

I don't want to beat a dead-horse by asking the same silly question again, but do you have any expectations in terms of sidewall stiffness? Similar to the GSD3s? Or the RT615s? Or waiting to find out? :)

The pricing seems nice as well.

I had the FK-451's on my CTS-V and found them to be very similar if not the same to the GS D3's. The FK-452's are supposed to be another step up. I don't have a true comparison as I no longer own a V or have GS D3's. I'll be comparing mine to the GY F1's which are not very good on the SRT.

Treadwear - 280
Traction - AA
Temperature - A
Speed Rating - WR

$204 after rebate for the GY's vs. $148 for the Falken's. I hope somebody does this. Falken's have never let me down.

I'm due for a new set of tires and was leaning toward the 615. Any thoughts on the pro's/con's of the 452's vs. 615's?

I had the 452's installed a few weeks ago just before they were released. I had the 451's on order and they couldn't get them to me so they released the 452's early to me. I went 245/45/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. I like them very much. The 451's as chris said look alot like GSD3's - They also look like the toyo t1-s's, which I used to run on my c5's. The 452's look very similiar to the new toyo t1-r's.

Comparatively, for a non-run flat tire, the turn in is very good. The sidewalls are alot stiffer than I thought and I am very pleased with the tire. I had dunlop direzzas on another set of stock rims for a couple hundred miles, which I will be selling for spares..lol The direzzas were a good tire for the money, but the sidewalls were mush compared to the 452's.

If any V owners in the Raleigh NC area would like to take a spin in my V to see how the tires handle before they buy drop a pm as I'm glad to let ya give it a wing.

cheers!

Does anyone know if these numbers will rub considering I just lowered it with Pro Eibachs (1.6 front -- 1.2 rear)

275/40/18 rear
265/40 or 35/front/18

Thanks in advance:worship:

I have the fk 451, on my cts-v
got them from edgeracing here in miami after the gsd3 wouldn't balance properly, something about them not being perfectly round :thepan: i'm sure others here had the same problem. The FK's have given me excellent grip in dry and wet, the best part is that i have put 8000 miles on them and they still have plenty of tread left. I ran through the runflats in 5500 miles and a pair of pirelli p-zero's in around the same. 8000 miles for me is amazing with about 40% tread left on them.
excellent tire, I can't wait to try the fk 452.:worship:

Hey Chris, are the F1's on your SRT wearing as fast as the F1's on the V's?

One of my best friends has an SRT-8 charger and his rear F1's were shot at 5k miles. They are different size tires so no rotation - ack.

How do we know your friend didn't do too many burnouts?

Either way, my F1's with 13k miles and 2 track days are going bye, bye at the end of the month. I'm definitely going with RT-615's. If the FK-452's come in 235/35/20 and 275/30/20, I'll get those in the future.

Yes. I mean hell yes. 8,000 miles so far and the rears have had it.

255/45/20's will fit all 'round, however they do leave the factory with 245/45's front and 255/45's rear.

My F-1s are shot especially the rears, go figure. Since I bought the V used I'm sure the ones on the front are replacements. So I did not get a good enough credit from Badyear to convince me to buy from them again. Thanks to the positive write ups on the Falken 451s I just ordered a set of the new 452 in 245/45 front and 275/40 for the rears @ $653.00 shipped. It will run another $25.00 per wheel for mounting and balance so for $750.00 I,m happy. Thanks to all who provided input good and bad on their tire experiences.
