About a week ago i went to start my cadillac after work (a 1980 Fleetwood Brougham) and as soon as the engine started this tiny round light in the middle of the instrument panel came on. it's a tiny green light. it's above the "60" on the speedometer, on teh instrument panel.

it's only on when the engine's running, and when i floor the accelerator, in that second that the engine stalls while the gas is running into the carburetor, the light blinks, otherwise it's always on.

it's never been on for the 2.5 years before last week that i've had the car... what does it mean?

Thanks

I think thats the auto-leveling light.

hmmm no, there's a light that says "LEVEL RIDE"... that's for the leveling.

this light is on the right of the "trunk open" light... it's a tiny, ROUND, GREEN light.

I think what you are referring to is a "mileage minder". if I remember correctly the green light was on at idle and very light throttle, Another light beside it would come on orange if heavy throttle was applied. Worked off of engine vacuum. Hi vacuum, green light, low vacuum, orange light. The point being keeping the green light on would get better mileage. I remember this system on the '76 thru '79 Sevilles. Hope this helps, Bill.
