Have read in various articles that 2-3k rebate is available.
have not been able to find documentation of that.

Also there is $1500 dealer cashback. Is this the conquest cash?
or something in addition to the conquest cash?

GM.com doesnt list any rebates for the SRX, but ive heard the same thing you have.

Cadillac.com shows a $1500 rebate if you currently own a non-GM vehicle. I assume that is cash to buyer not the dealer because it is on the consumer website.

Isn't the SRX selling quite well? If so, a $3000 rebate seems high but would be great of course.

My wife got hers 2 weeks ago and there was $1500.00 in conquest money. Went from a 2000 Audi A8 to the SRX.

The SRX was kind of dogging in sales out of the gate, but the problem was that the first production runs were heavily weighted with high content V8 equipped vehicles (with price tags in the 50k+ range, comparable to an Escalade).

The pricing is being massaged a bit now, and the hope is that sales will pick up as dealerships begin to receive a broader model mix with more V6 and lower content cars.

I also think that once people start getting a look at them on the road, sales will move a little quicker as well. I think they look way hotter in person than on any magazine page, but as it is now I've only seen a few on the streets. Considering where I live I would have expected the place to be filthy with them by now!

My dealer has a base SRX with a 38.6K MSRP advertised for 33.7K.
So I am guessing he is selling it close to invoice plus the 1.5K conquest cash.

I received a 24 hr. test drive certificate yesterday worth 1K.

So you took a 24 hour test drive and then you received a certificate for $1,000 off? Can that be combined with other offers like the conquest cash?

I think we are close to purchasing one and will ask for a 24 hour test drive if that is the case.

Thanks in advance.

OSOGATO,

No.
I received the 1K certificate in the mail yesterday.
I have not taken the 24hr test drive yet.

It says that the certificate must be used by the person it is addressed to, and that it can not be combined with any other private offer.

I am assuming that the 1.5K conquest deal is a public offer.

So I should be able to use the 1K 24 hr test drive certificate.

Which would allow me to buy a base SRX for $32,XXX.
Which seems like a excellent value.

I can also use it on any GM vehicle except, GTO, Corvette, etc.

Thanks. I did not get one but that sounds like you can get a great deal. Congratulations.

Unfortunately, the 24 Hour Test Drive coupon can't be combined with the Conquest money. They are both considered "coupon" programs and can't be used together.

However, there is a $2K incentive available on SRX V8s with invoice dates prior to 10/15, to move out some of those high-content V8s that were sent to the dealers.

Osogato
02-01-04, 12:31 AM
Is that $2000 to the dealer or to the customer? I guess if it is to the dealer they won't necessarily share it with the customer, correct?

Can the $2000 incentive be combined with the conquest $1500?

Finally, I assume any GM card rewards can be combined with either of the above, correct?

Thanks in advance.

Isn't the $1,500 conquest money available only if you own a non-GM car?

CaddySales
02-01-04, 05:08 PM
The $2000 is a consumer rebate, and not "dealer cash", but it's only available on older units. It can be combined with the conquest money.

GM Card rewards can be used with any other incentives.

Osogato
02-03-04, 04:43 PM
Do you think there will be better incentives on the SRX after 03/31 when the conquest money expires or do you think that the $1500 off is about the best that will be available?

How can one tell which are the older versions that might have the extra $2000 rebate? I've searched inventory on the GMbuypower site but that does not seem to have that type of info.

I am in California, otherwise I would just come see you I think.

Thanks in advance.

I am still struggling with pricing on the SRX.

Only 1500 sold in January but 4500 have been produced in the first 38 days of 2004.

There has got to be some kind of rebate/incentive in the pipeline.

here is what I am coming across on pricing.

My dealer has a $38,690 base V6 advertised for $33,700.
Invoice is $35,840. Conquest cash is $1500.
Which makes it $34,340.
Where is the dealer finding the other $600 discount?
How is he able to sell it for $33,700 and stay in business?
There is only about $300 of holdback left for him at $33,700.

There has got to be some kind of dealer cashback from Cadillac coming to him.

The 2-3K rebate I have heard of only applies to V8s built before 10/15/2003.

Anybody care to share some light on this?

How about you CaddySales?

doesn't that 1,500 conquest cash for non-GM owners come straight from Cadillac? The dealer doesn't have to eat that one.

b4z
02-13-04, 11:53 AM
Yes, but where is the other $640 that he is discounting te vehicle coming from?

CaddySales
02-13-04, 01:07 PM
Is the unit a demo?

Even if not, it's not unheard of to sell a vehicle below invoice. It might just be a loss leader to get folks into the showroom.

We were selling cars at GMS employee pricing to everyone at the end of December, in order to meet some Cadillac sales targets. We lost money on every unit we sold that way, but sometimes the number of cars delivered is more important than the gross profit (not often, though :)).

Thanks for the reply CaddySales.

I just got back from driving the car and it is sweet.
It has excellent power and th body structure seems pretty rigid.
Drives very much like the CTS, but i like it more than the CTS.
More headroom and more back seat room.

Anyway, I asked my salesman about the $33.7K price and he said they were getting some help from Cadillac. Which I suspected.
The numbers just didn't add up without a spiff or dealer incentive.

I am now looking at the sign and drive deal.
They are offering $469 for a base V6.
Does that sound about right?
it does to me because the $32K CTS is available at $399.

There is another GM rebate in the form of "Instant Value Certificates" that I forgot about. Each dealer got a limited number of them (very limited) and can use them at their discretion on just about any vehicle. Each certificate is good for $500, and 1-4 certificates can be offered, depending on model and model year. I'm betting that's what your salesman was talking about.

b4z
02-13-04, 08:25 PM
Thanks again,

So if the $1500 conquest cash brought the "invoice" price(for lack of a better term) down to $34,340. They could use 2 $500 certificates to bring it to $33,340. Adding $360 profit or commission to the salesman would bring it to the $33,700 advertised price.
And the dealer still makes his $1,160 holdback on the $38,690 MSRP.

Or they could use only 1 certificate and take a hit on some of the holdback.

Works for me.

Learn something new everyday.

CaddySales,

My dealer is offering a $459 not $469 sign and drive deal.

Have a question about leasing.
If I use the $1500 conquest cash doesn't that come off the cap cost?

Also are you sure I can't use the $1000 24 hr test drive money with the conquest cash?
It says it can't be combined with any other private offers, but the conquest cash is a public offer.

I figure I am about $2500 upside down on the Impala and I am trying to make up the difference. So that I will come out a $459.

Thanks again.

b4z
02-18-04, 06:51 PM
Well I thought I had everything figured out, but you know how that goes.

The $459 Sign and Drive deal is their loss leader on the base V6.

It assumes all applicable rebates. Including $1500 conquest cash.

So I can't negotiate the price downwards.

I will have to come up with some cash to get rid of my
Lexus and Impala. So I am going to try to sell them myself.

Not good.

Hey caddySales, can you give us any details about the GMS SRX lease special I heard on WJR or WWJ radio today? The offer was something like a V8 SRX for $400 a month with $2300 down.

Terpnut

One other factor that has not been mentioned is that the SRX was recently modified and/or "uprated" to clear the minimum 6,000 lb GVWR needed for small business owners to purchase this "truck" and take the now-infamous SUV tax deduction. Thus the older non-6,000 GVWR vehicles probably need additional incentives to sell. I, for one, am currently in the market for one of the newer 6,000 lb GVWR SRX's.

Just got back from signing the paperwork on my new SRX. I'll be getting it in a couple days since they have to get it from another dealership. Here's the breakdown of the deal for my almost fully loaded Diamond White RWD V6 SRX (Nav,3rd row, DVD, sunroof, HID's, etc.):

MSRP: $51,420.00
Supplier discount price : $46,606.09 ($500 below invoice)
Conquest cash: -$1500.00
Bonus cash: -$250.00 (for taking delivery before 3/1/04)
Total selling price: $44,856.09

I also had the dealer order me a set of the MC2 20" wheels/tires package at cost ($1995) Pics of the wheels can be seen here:
http://www.mc2ing.com/bax.htm

I'll take and post pics when I actually get the car early next week.

Just thought I'd share my purchase experience. Can't wait to drive my first Caddy!

The $250 is just an additional incentive to get buyers to buy now since GM sales are a little sluggish at the beginning of the year. More info can be found at

I'm 30, and have been strictly an import buyer until now. Every time I tell somebody what I bought, they're like "You bought a what??!!"

Yes, but there are a lot of companies that qualify as GM suppliers. I work primarily for a cell phone manufacturer and got the discount. Check with your company to see if they qualify.

Still trying to buy a base V6 SRX.
The black car i wanted to buy was sold Wednesday afternoon.
I completed the sale of my Lexus LS400 last night, but the guy who was going to buy my Impala backed out because his wife wants a new car.

So the dealership wants to add $40 a month to the payment to
trade the Impala in. Not doing that. will continue to advertise the
Impala and hope that the sign and drive program will continue and that
the incentives will continue after 2/29.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've never been a cadillac owner and am kind of excited about it. I have been shopping for a crossover SUV for general family use. I wanted the Volvo XC90. My wife wanted the Lexus RX330. I thought we were at an impasse until I stumbled on the Cadillac SRX. I looked it over, drove it, and really fell for it. I'm looking at the following -- V6, 1SB luxory pack, AWD, and CF5 basic single sunroof. I am not interested in third row seating.

I would appreciate any comments about my selection of the SRX over the Volvo and Lexus.

I would like some help in figuring out what my bottom line purchase price should be walking out of a Philadelphia suburban showroom. It's hard for me to sort out the details of all of the discussion in this thread. Does anyone have any comments?

Should I also post in another thread for non-pricing information?

Thanks to anyome who can give me some pointers.;)

I am in the same boat as you. My husband really liked the Volvo - especially the safety features. I didn't like the climb up to get into it, although I found the interior very luxurious. The big selling point for me is the huge sunroof on the SRX. Nothing (that I have seen) comes close to it. I haven't really looked at the Lexus, but I don't think the sunroof is as big - is it.

As far as pricing goes I am in a quandry too. I am interested in 6 AWD with Sunroof and DVD Navigation System. That means the more expensive luxury package. MSRP is 49,375 and the best price I can get for the car out-the-door without sales tax is $44,350. Based on some of the posts I have read here, that seems to be high, but I am at a loss as how to improve the price.

Now I a weighing making the purchase in March with the $1,500 conquest rebate that is up March 31 or waiting to see if something better comes along. I just saw that Lincoln is offering $3,000 on the Aviator, so maybe Cadillac will become more competitive. In a way the Volvo is a little more attractive, because the price of the car is the price of the car. This is not an easy process (at least for me).

:coolgleam Me again. I went ahead with the SRX. My wife and I both love it. While I was on my first business trip with it I found myself with two guys who had recently purchased similar cars for general family use .. one the XC90.. one the SRX.. both with 3rd seat for bus-like use... each was totally happy with their choice. As for me.. I think I made the right choice. The SRX is more fun to drive , can be had for less money, and has a smoother ride. I just purchased my first new Cadillac CTS and I was wondering what everyone here thinks of the price I paid. It's a 2004 Luxury Sport, LOADED, Bose system, NAV system, aftermarket 18" rims w/zrated tires, spoiler. The original msrp was like 43,045 before the rims/tires and spoiler. I used GM BuyPower and got a price of 40,340 then the conquest for -1500, and I had one 500 sign and drive certificate for a total of 38,340. After cost of addons and ttl total of 43020.:hmm:Chris--Given that this is an SRX forum, most of us wouldn't have a clue as to the best price on a CTS. :rolleyes2
