I just received my diagnostics e-mail and was surprised to find that even though I had 42% oil life remaining, an alert said it was time for scheduled maintenance with the Mileage number.
I was not aware of a 6000 mile milestone for scheduled maintenance and I do not see another reason for that alert. Could it be because the car has passed the 10 months milestone?

I will talk to the dealer but anybody else have any ideas about this?

i think the service manual specifies that you get schedule maintenance not based on mileage but your on board oil monitor.

:stirpot: I guess the Caddy Dealers got together and decided they needed more routine servicing cash so they notified On-Star to tell everybody they needed the oil changed..........or possibly Mobile-1 has a contract with On-Star. Of course, this communication may be two ways. I decided not renew On-Star and within 7 days the battery developed a total Open Cell and the car died on the spot:stirpot:

The GM Owner Center says to perform maintenance if the message appears within 10 months. I guess the ten month timeframe triggered your oil change message.

What message are you refering to? The e-mail message from On Star? That is the only message I received to perform the scheduled maintenance.

Transylvania, go here
www.mygmlink.com
register by putting in your VIN and some other information. It's a very helpful GM web site. One of the links at the site is:
Gm Oil Life System Maintenance

That's where I got the ten month maximum.
