id like to do something to the outside of my 04 escalade without losing the factory warranaty, if i changed the wheels, grill, or pretty much anything else, the dealer will void the warranty on the whole truck, it has another 3 years and 29,000 miles left on the warranty and i dont want to lose the warranty cause these trucks give alot of problems and are very expensive to fix. does anyone here work for gm dealership, is there anyway to change the wheels without loosing the warranty?

It will not void your warranty, having said that, if you put larger wheels on your truck and say you have bearing failure, they may not cover that under warranty because your wheels may have caused it, however all other items would be under warranty. Putting on dress up items like a new grill will not void your warranty. If you are not sure go talk to your service dept at your Caddy dealer, and ask them what they will and will not cover.

I never heard that before, many dealerships sell aftermarket wheels and exhaust systems, you may want to try another dealer if possible. :)

I am no expert on warranties/UCC warranty law (which covers vehicles)/State Motor Vehicle law/warranties, but I am with Hcvone. I have 24's on my '03 and have never had any problems with the warranty being voided. My dealership has covered everything that should be under warranty. I have also never had any problems with my truck except the fuel pump going out at around 65,000 miles (which was beyond the warranty period).

The solution to your question is to call Cadillac and speak with someone there who can give you an interpretation of their warranty. Also look at the warranty itself, Cadillac is allowed to put limiting language in their warranties for their vehicles so they might have limits on the Escalade warranty. Bottom line is don't trust the meathead service department manager in Brooklyn.

Uria, Put anything on your escalade you want it will not void the warranty. What Cadillac does say is this," if a part fails due to your alteration that's not covered under warranty, any damage as a result of a alteration is not under warranty. So if you changed the intake manifold and the engine fails .... it's all yours. if you put on some 24"s and the seat heater quits, Cadillac will fix it during your warranty period. To say if you modify it in anyway voids the warranty is a "meathead" response, To quote another member.
I am a Cadillac service manager and I did call Cadillac on this.

This may be splitting hairs now, but I want to put in a drop. Looking at the new GroundForce 1.5/2.5 kit, which only requires 4 springs and a ride level sensor bracket. No spindle change (like the McGaughy's).

One thing I've had happen like clockwork over the years ( with my GM SUV's ) is the front trans-axle seals. They always seem to start leaking every 20k.

I suppose the drop kit will void this, not to mention the universals, etc?

There would be no relationship to the seals failure and the drop. Rock on!
By the way The seals should be ok way past 20k......but the front diff. another story:mad:

Most of the time you can replace the mods that you have done with the oem parts. If you want wheels get them, and if you ever have a problem throw you stocks back on. Etc

Ya, if you have a problem, take em off and put the stock ones back on and then go to the dealer. What they dont know wont hurt them.

BCC,

I wasn't try to say you or any other service manager is a meathead, if you took it that way I am sorry. I should have phrased it like you did, "A meathead response" from the service manager in Brooklyn.

No we're all good. However, I must say any service manager who says " your entire warranty is voided if you do any mods" Is a meathead in my book. obviously a severe case of "Cranial rectumitus" aka head up ass syndrome
