I'm looking for a larger oil filter 4 my 78 deville, i currently use the acdelco pf-45 , filter , but i was wondering , does anyone make a larger filter , one that wont rub on the belts?
i do not want to relocate my oil filter just get a larger one.

I use the filter from a '76 500, and it fits fine (since it's the same basic pump design, just angled differently).

i thought about that , and i will try that on my next service,
i noticed that they are a bit larger filter , i just used my last pf 45 filter up , and cannot find any more, so all that is left is the tiny pf58 filter(way too small for my likeing,
anyone know the delco part # for the 1976 500 filter?

Not sure of the relative sizes between the PF 45, PF 58, Pf 24, but the other filter that may fit is the PF 61 from the 368.

the pf 45 is somewhat larger than the pf 58, never heard of the pf61,

My '79 called for a PF61. same as my 4.9.

The PF58 is the old one, the PF61 is the updated version... I used the 58 just once before it was replaced with the 61. The 58 lacked a check valve inside and would allow oil drain back, the 61 fixed that.
