you know i noticed the same thing.. my parents have an 02 and 03 Escalades and both have it when you hit the button or put the key in the ignition the seats and mirrors go to saved positions however on my 06 EXT I have to actually press the number 1 button every time i get in for the seat and mirrors to go to my save positions.. doesnt bother me much as when i get in i sometimes relax for a little and let the car warm up and such.. but i dont know why they got rid of it unless its a setting that has to be set to do so which i haven ot yet seen.

The last year to have this feature was '04. They got rid of it in '05, for whatever reason, so '06s don't have it either.

It was actually part of a big discussion here, after people discovered the change but had no idea why GM did it.

It's called "decontenting"... :)

Or in layman's terms--it's GM going cheap in order to maximize profits...

What's funny about this is that, although they take out stuff like the keyfob memory recall feature that probably doesn't cost hardly anything to implement since it's software-driven, they add "useless" hardware stuff that actually has a physical cost like the fake black "spoiler" on the liftglass on '06 Tahoe/Suburban/Denali. Go figure...

The reasoning I was told at the time I walked out of a deal on a 05 Lade as a second vehicle. was it was removed to free up space in the computer. No one could answer my question that it could be added back in. So I walked out on the deal. (Very big option for me and my wife. 6'1" & 4'11") Later found out it can be added. If you like the dealer can program it back in the 05 and 06 models.

Now it is just 1 Lade and 1 F-150 for me. Could of been 2 Lades. :banghead:
