Hey guys, Im having a dilemma over in the CTS forums. Here is the story: I got a Viper 791 alarm installed on my CTS. Its been 5 weeks now, and I have had maybe 1 week of trouble free usage. This thing is always giving me false alarms, sometimes it dosnt go off when the door opens, apparently the trunk and door sensors werent wired up right. I am so sick of this thing, that its not worth the money. I payed 700 dollars out the door for everything (including 2 sensors). The shop is a clean, ''professional'' shop with ceritifed isntallers. Its an hour away from me. Ive gone back 2-3 times and now have to go abck again. I dont have time to keep going back, I work and go to school plus gas costs a lot. Everytime I go they say its fixed and more stuff goes wrong the worst is when the alarm acts fine at the shop and they think im crazy. I have been very patient and have been doign my best jotting down all the variables that might be affecting this so they can fix it. Im very upset now I was going to tell them if they dont fix it this friday I want a full refund, well I just noticed the recipt says no refund. Is there any way I can legally threaten them to get thier act together?? I feel like I am being jerked around. How would you go about this...im so close to blowing up...

No refund, means no refund. I don't really know that there is much you can do as far as getting your money back. On the other hand as long as you have been cool with the shop owner or whoever it is time to start talking. Say, look this alarm is only a month old and I have been in with every week. There obviously must have been something faulty done by the manufacturer or something in production. Is there a way that maybe we can install another system of the same cost or even the same system but entirely new unit. You must have wanted the alarm if you had it installed to begin with? There was probably something just wrong with this alarm.

Try contacting "Viper" and advise them of the problem. They don't want installers giving their product a bad name.

ok so a did a bit of research...turns out in a case of defective equipment...the return policy dosnt matter. Its under the consumer protection laws.

There's also something that would get you around it in credit laws, even if there is a "no return" policy.
