Quick question: what are the advantages (if any) of drilled and slotted disks (rotors) ?

Better venting, heat dissipation. There is more rotor surface area in contact with the air.

One of very few differences between the 2000 and the 2001 Cats:

The 2001 cars have vented rear rotors.

Hum... vented as in 'sandwich' vented, or the vents along the spline?

I have those on my 98 Cat.

A '98 Cat with vented REAR rotors?

Interesting.

I have learned something here.

But then that's the reason I come here.:)

Thanks!

They aren't the original ones.

My 98 Cat has 146 000Km, so this is the second set of rotors. It was done at the dealership, didn't question the cost back then... (now I do since finding the forum).
