==================================================
They just released pictures and info about the new Audi TT.. Here is what they wrote:
The high-tech Audi magnetic ride damper system is available as an option. In this system, tiny magnetic particles circulate in the oil inside the shock absorbers. When a voltage is applied to them, they alter the damping characteristics within milliseconds. This adaptive system simultaneously ensures high levels of ride comfort and thoroughly sporty dynamism, according to the specific driving scenario and the preferences of the driver.

http://www.automobilemag.com/news/0410_bose_suspension/ I want to see some clips of that Bose suspension in action on the track, the video on that site didn't convince me of how great they claim it to be :thepan: The MagneRide suspension works just great. I just love the way it handles. Night Wolf 04-11-06, 12:06 PM Cadillac has had it since..... 1997?
Knowing Blose... I wouldn't be surprised if that suspension thing is all advertising with the product being a POS..... Devil_concours 04-11-06, 07:30 PM hard to argue with fastest reacting suspension in the world.
In the new sts, these suspension package is the must have option. It's amazing how much it can change between the two modes AznPrydeRegalRyde 04-11-06, 09:09 PM Yeah, Magnaride is incredible. You really won't notice a difference tho, unless you push the car or have rough roads. Thats where that suspenson really shines.
About the BOSE? Fasting reacting suspension in the world, hard to argue, and the video is very promising. But their speakers are shitcrap. And they say they are amazing, soo... that system has been out for a while but no one uses them. Isn't that enough? ascariSTS 04-12-06, 01:30 AM that system has been out for a while but no one uses them. Isn't that enough?
heheh.. Yea there must be something...
Ok, I have STS V8 with Magna Ride.... I want to test how the Magna Ride handles in the performance mode..
So, does anyone have testing steps that will make me very impressed at the end ? :D Devil_concours 04-12-06, 01:49 AM heheh.. Yea there must be something...

start out with touring and take the entrance/exit ramp on the highway as quick as possible.
Change it to performance and take the same ramp and feel the difference.
Performance mode is fantastic on the back roads but it sucks on harsh surface ascariSTS 04-12-06, 04:03 AM start out with touring and take the entrance/exit ramp on the highway as quick as possible.

yea I tried it in harsh roads... very stiff
Does the performance mode make less body lean in turns? Devil_concours 04-12-06, 07:48 AM yea I tried it in harsh roads... very stiff

yes it does. It keeps the car near flat Only down side I read about it mostly from vett's. Is the magna-ride creates unwanted heat durning extream track events. There seems to be some fall off of performance too once they get excessive heat in them.
I'll take a set of matched valved Konis over Magna-ride. |
