The Escalade specifies using 880's however, you can also use 890, 892, 893, 884, 885, 899. The difference is the angle of the base and the wattage however, the base socket and wiring socket are the same. An 880 is only 27 watts and if you're going to use a bulb that looks like HID you should get a brighter wattage due to the bulb having a blue tint on it. http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-6753.cfm
Those are 37.5 watts and offer a blue tint light. I have used a pair of 9006's like these. They look very close to HID however, they're not as bright as HID. I don't know if it is possible to convert 880's to an HID kit.

That's good to know. I always find the 9006, 9004, and 9007's but never anything for fog lights. Do you know where you can find them?

Like I said, the only concern I would have is the brightness issue due to the blue tint but, due to the fact you are increasing the wattage from stock it should make up for the differnece. I was accually suprised to learn that the Escalade used only 880's as fog lights. That definatly leaves room for upgrading. As I said, I have used the 9006's of the same bulb and I liked them. A lot depends also on lense design but, the Escalade has a good lense design with nice, clean reflectors. After you install them post again and let me know.
