I know we have several other V owners in Charlotte. I saw this on the late news - looked like a V from pictures but couldn't tell for sure - it was mangled. Black car - looked like a tan interior - but the interior was the exterior after the wreck. Car flew 30 feet off the road - police missed it the first time. The silver lining is no others were killed, I guess.

Hopefully not another V out on a test drive....

But the 100+ MPH thing sure does sound "V" like.

Wow..I heard about this on the news but didn't realize it was a fellow caddy owner. They slammed right through the front of the house, I'm trying to find a link to it. They also had to reroute traffice because apparently everything was so mangled.

Can't tell anything else from the wreck, but the wheel doesn't look like a V wheel.

Yeah, it's definitely a Catera. If you play the video, 24 seconds into the second clip you see a perfect shot of a wheel that is that of a Catera. An unfortunate story nonetheless.

I live in Old Farm one block away from the wreck, but they had already taken the car away by the time I got over to check on the scene. I'm at a loss as to how something like that can happen, there's nothing even remotely dangerous about that stretch of road. My prayers go out to the families.

This part of town used to be so quiet, then there was the murder at the Circle K up the street and now this. Hopefully it's not a trend.

There was a similar one here a few weeks ago. 30 MPH zone, nothing remotely dangerous about the road. Guy took his pickup over a knee-high stone wall, through some parked cars, took out the gas pumps and lodged the truck INSIDE the gas station (not the bays, the office part) - backwards. Passenger was killed. Nothing but a little blurb in the local paper. I have to wonder how you pull something like that off.

Having worked on highway construction sites in college, it's not hard to rip up that reflective tape mentioned in the news bulletin. Hell, sometimes it'll come up on its own. Still, a sad event.
