Hey, i thought that was an interesting question. Why did you choose to buy an escalade instead of any other vehicle? a new escalade runs 60 grand, you could get a lotus, a new bmw sportscar, hell you could even get an aston martin for that money. what qualifies the escalade above all for you?

Safety, style and comfort. That's why I bought my Escalade and If I could budget it somehow, I would own an 07 Escalade.

The cheapest aston martin is the v8 vantage which is $120k. To some, the cars you named are too small and not very practical to others. It's like choosing a Maybach vs a Ferrari. It appeals to different people but both are extremely expensive.

I bought the escalade because of all the features it has I was looking at a range rover but when I heard that they were redesigning the escalade for 07 I wanted to check it out first before I bought anything. It turns out I liked it more than the range rover. The escalade has 403 hp compared to 300 hp on the range unless you buy the supercharged one but that was out of my price range. The navigation and stereo system are much better in the escalade, the power lift gate, standard remote start, back up camera, and the interior is much nicer. There are a lot of things that swayed me to buy the escalade but most of all I think it is the features you get for your money compared to all the other luxury suvs out there the escalade is what I consider fully loaded and it is a totally new design that will not change for at least 4 years.

1. Need AWD or 4x4, because of living in Tahoe. Snow 6 mo's of the year, and the CHP doesn't let you on the roads without 4WD or chains.

2. Wife, two daughters, 1 son-in-law, and 2 grandkids. We all live in Tahoe. This one SUV holds us all going to dinner, shopping, etc.

3. Have a 22' X-Star Wakeboarding boat. Go all summer.

4. Camping/Boating trips every 3 day holiday, plus 2 weeks a year at Bass Lake, CA.

5. Most powerfull engine available in an SUV. Pulling a boat over the mountains takes some huevo's. Don't like diesel pick-ups and such.

6. At middle age (44), Caddy is finally exceptable for my age. No offense to all the younger owners....

7. Would rather put my money in a US company than a foreign one. GM needs all the help they can get. (Ok so some parts are foreign made, but you get the point).

8. Owned GM's since for 10 yrs, ('96 Suburban), ('01 Denali), '05 Denali XL), and now the Caddy. Always been dependable, in spite of a few issues.

9. Escalade is the pinnacle of the GM SUV line. As long as I can afford it, I'll never downgrade.

10. Ok, there's the "cool factor". Sorry for the tired line, but I'm old...

Several reasons....

The obvious reasons are luxury, looks, versatility, comfort etc. The Escalade is a statement vehicle. The Escalade says "i have arrived". I feel like BMWs and Mercedes dont have the "WOW" affect as an Escalade. In a big city, those cars arent very noticeable. I mean, if one sits beside you at a red light, you might look over and say "nice car"...but an Escalade grabs your attention from hundreds of feet away.

I am fairly young (just turned 30) and my main reason is because an 07 Black EXT sitting on 24s helps with getting women, hahahahaha.

Im kidding (well really im not) lol.

I actually use mine for business. I own a bakery and deliver all sorts of things from doughnuts to wedding cakes.

Well I don't have mine yet, but in the next few months I'll be purchasing one. Why I'm dead set on owning one? I need a 4X4, I want a Cadillac, I love the looks, I love the ride, what more can I ask?

hmm, I bought the escalade because of......The awesome hertage styling, almost standard 22''s, seating for 7, standard power liftgate, power folding seats, ESCALADE name, Cadillac, I wanted one, Power, dominance over other cars, visibility, and safety.

Dollar for Dollar you get more for your money with an Escalade. It also hold its resale value much better than it's competition. Besides it is just a hot ride and not just for the younger generation. I'm mid 30's and it's a good ride for a female too. Comfort, plenty of room, stereo is great, and cup holders. Man I can't tell you how many vehicles I've looked at that doesn't have cup holders or cheap ones. And I'm talking luxury cars! When you take road trips - cup holders are a must. Love it.

Indeed, I'm only 20 so I can't wait to get ahold of one. :D It's always nice to get compliments on cars. I don't ever use a car to pick up chicks, but it never hurts when you have something nice to show for.

Was looking for a newer Tahoe and with a difference in price being $1500 for the comparable year/mileage...I'd be a damn fool not too.

That and my first car was a 1978 Cadillac Coupe Deville. Personal opinion, that's the REAL cadillacs, but I love the escalades. And the 428/RWD doesnt do too good in the snow.

And the leather...oh man the cadillac leather....SO much nicer then all that other CHEAP shit out there.

On the issue of the BIG SUV though....I let my friend borrow my Escalade in trade for his 96 Twin Turbo Inline 6 Toyota Supra for the weekend...and I have decided that the next car I buy will either a) be turbo and b) be a 6 speed. Holy shit that car is better than some of my sexual experiences. I had that thing doing 130mph on the WA Country roads this weekend, along side my 2 best friends in a 2002 WS-6 Firebird (the one with the LS1 Engine) and a 2005 Suzuki GSX-R 600.
No way in hell an escalade could have EVER done that.

But then again....cadillacs are built for comfort, not for speed.
excpet the V series...god those things are sweet...

I have some of those cars you describe ;) I needed a work truck, after 6 Suburban's just wanted something a little nicer, and the Escalade was it for me in 2002, ordered a 2003, been very pleased, not one return trip to the dealer, just waiting for my 07'. I use my truck in upstate NY for snowmobiling, and for visiting construction sites, I develope large sites for business and homes. :)

I absolutely love the looks of them. The 99-00 and the 02-06. The 07 is starting to grow on me also. The ride quality is great and there's tons of room. The main reason i purchased this is b/c I'm 6'4 205lbs and I needed some room. I also know once I go to sell it/trade it in I will get a good deal on it b/c they have a good resale value.

I do wish the gas mileage was a tad better, but I also have a Suzuki sportbike so that makes up for the gas costs.

BTW I'm 18 and I bought my car, not my parents.

Preach on. Im 22, got back from the Middle East for 7 months and couldnt buy a house because of the hit on capital gains...so what better than a new car to have when I get out of the Navy in July.

Not to mention goin home to roll around in a cadillac when most of my friends are driving the same pieces of shit they had in high school.

I love US cars, and there are very few Escalade in Europe. I also looked into the H2, but you don`t get wintertires with studs in that size and it is not a good car in the snow, where the Escalade is very good!!

It also used less fuel than my older durango.

and of corse the 6.0, 345hp and a very good looking suv!!!

Hell yeah.

Me too, I use mine to carry the chickens from one side of the farm to the other, where I pick up the pigs and shuttle them to bed of mud, while chasing the cattle into the shit hill.

I'm sick of paying for over the border illegal pregnancy care, and wars I have no say on. Write off what you can, till you can't anymore.

It's the wife's choice. I have a Black Hummer H2 lowered with 24" DUBS.

Actually, when I bought my H2, the Escalade was #2 on my list. But it's a pretty SWEET ride:)
