View Full Version : Opinions needed (My dad looking for new SUV) Okay,
I would like to get you guys opinions on this. My dad has ALWAYS liked the Hummer H2. Dont ask me why, but he does! My uncle has owned one for a couple years now, and now my dad now wants one, since he saved up enough $$$ for one. Yes I told him about the new Escalade, but he doesnt want it for some reason, I dunno.
Anyways, the H2's, I will admit, do look good when you slap on 26s and add on a few chrome stuff on the outside, etc etc.
I know this topic has nothing to do with a Escalades really, but you guys have good tastes on cars/trucks/suv's, since you do own an Escalade like me. So thats why I want your opinions.
I told my dad that Hummer H2 are kinda getting played out, etc, (see too many driving around), but I didn't tell him anything more than that. I told him, why not try something different?
Anyways, I am liking the new Infiniti Q56's. I am going to ask him what he thinks about it later today. What do YOU guys think about it?
Infiniti Q56 or the Hummer H2?? and why?
Do you guys know anybody who owns the Q56? If so, do they like it?
Here's a pic of a ride I found on Cardomain that I think this person did a great job modifying it.

Anyways, thanks for the opinions guys. Spittin Game 04-07-06, 02:16 PM I dont blame him for not wanting the 07 Escalade. I personally think the H2 is played out, but Id rather have that than the 07, unless he was looking at an EXT. And that QX56 is friggen hot looking!!! AWF_AXIS 04-07-06, 02:38 PM The thing about the QX56 is, it looks like a chop shop welded two different vehicles together just past the second set of doors.
My tiny brain just can't deal with complex symmetry.
Although I have one, don't push the '07 Escalade. The first time something goes wrong, you'll loose your inheritence.

:yeah:
This past weekend I sold the 26s TIS04s to a guy with this QX56 and have to admit it looked nice once we slapped the wheels on. I would consider the H2 but I'm set to get a Range Rover for my next vehicle. Let us know what he decides to purchase. I would get an H2 over the QX56, but I would get anything over a QX56, but that's just me. I did not like the visibility in the H2 and that is why I got my present Escalade, after driving an 07' Escalade for a weekend, I know I made the right choice in ordering one. I also have an 05' Range Rover HSE, and you can have that thing, it sits in the garage at my shore house, it's no fun to drive. Synergetic 04-07-06, 05:27 PM QX56 is clean. I would get that over the H2 and 07 Escalade, even if I had the choice of getting them both. It just looks baller slammed on rims that are color coated to the color of the car. I would lose the DUB stickers though. AZ Escalade 04-07-06, 07:35 PM I have driven the H2, Escalade, and QX56. I did not like the ride of the Infiniti as much as the 2 GM products. You do get alot of options for the money with the QX, but the build quality seemed a little cheap. I really liked the H2, but the wife wanted the Escalade, so that's what we bought. If I had my choice, I would probably have chosen the H2. The downside of the H2 for me was the rear visibility and lack of space in the rear, especially, if you did not get the external mounted spare. I dont plan to modify my vehicles a whole lot. We have horses, so we have to tow a trailer every once in a while. The inlaws live out where the roads are rough (that's where the horses are boarded), so getting larger wheels/tires are out of the question. Steelhead Jess 04-07-06, 08:10 PM Just my $0.02.....
Escalade
H2
Range Rover
Nissan (infinity)
Really, the infinity is to me, a bit of a japanese toy. Rear end looks like it came out of a car...looks like a wanna be full size to me.....
but, in the end, its your dad's $0.02 that are going to matter jrs05caddyext 04-07-06, 09:31 PM I also have an 05' Range Rover HSE, and you can have that thing, it sits in the garage at my shore house, it's no fun to drive.
When can I come pick it up.

Only SUV I might choose over an Escalade would probably be that Porsche Cayanne.. I have never driven one, so I couldn't say I'm sure I would. It would have to be the supercharged edition too. I would even take the 2004 Navigator over the QX56.. I'd only choose that if my alternative was a Hummer. Once wifey gets her business up and running, we are going to either sell the Explorer or trade it in for an 02+ Escalade. I'm kinda excited about getting the Newer body Style Escalade. Can't wait to make a few changes. Just my two cents. 07slade 04-08-06, 12:18 AM tell him to get a cayenne S, 340 hp, and its the same engine as the cayenne turbo, so instead of paying 100k he will only have to pay like 65 or so to buy the turbocharger..s hornyjuan 04-08-06, 12:26 AM tell him to get a cayenne S, 340 hp, and its the same engine as the cayenne turbo, so instead of paying 100k he will only have to pay like 65 or so to buy the turbocharger..s
Why not the Turbo S?? :worship: Synergetic 04-08-06, 12:06 PM Forgot about the Porsche, that thing is nice. We went to the dealer and drove it. My girl better not catch me on these forums talking about that car. She loves it! Falkolade 04-08-06, 02:55 PM i like the hummer brand... my girl has a loaded h3... its nice but its too small for me... but i like h2s a lot... they need to freshen the style a little bit now though... but i'd go with an h2 over an 07 lade... but thats just me... When can I come pick it up.

You can have it as soon as the 5 year tax thing is done, won't be getting another one, that is for sure. :) Blacklac02 04-10-06, 09:20 AM Ummm. The Infinity is one UGLY truck. Just my opinion........:) | |
