I think I have done away with te idea of throwing 22s on my 2000 just because I dont like the way it looks when the tires stick out farther then the fender.
Anyone have a picture of a 2000 Lowered on 20s? And if so...which lowering kit did you use?

I've been searching the internet and local stores for rims, but man it's hard. In 3 months I am going back to Alaska, where the shipping would be about $1000 more, so I am operating on dwindling time. That and I just want some damn rims already.:)

So, if anyone could help me out and provide pictures of their finished product, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys.

Here's what it looks like now. Stock height with 285/75R16 Nitto Grappler All Terrains on stock rims. I'm going to use these tires as winter tires back home. Also...with a lowering kit....would these tires still fit? I figured I would ask before I lowered it and found out :horse:

Back 8 yrs ago, I had a 96 Suburban. This is the same basic chassis as your ride. The way the front tapers in, it always looked like the fronts stick out, and while the rears look clean.

I considered buying EVO wheels from Weld Racing (20's). They offer various offsets on the same wheel designs. I figured to put 10mm for the rears, and 40mm for the fronts.

A tire guy said I would be messing with the tracking, and alignments would be tricky. Also, no rotating front to rear. Then, another guy said the different tracking widths would mess with the handling.

In the end, I got some basic 20's with I think a 35mm offset, and bought a rear wheel spacer to push the rear wheels out 1 inch. Probably not a smart thing in hindsight, but it made the vehicle look symetrical. Seem to handle just fine, and never had to do an alignment.

However, I soon traded it in for the '01 Denali. Put the stocker's back on, and sold the wheels on eBay. Still got the spacers in my garage.

Yeah, how they did that was pretty shitty. (the whole tapered front end) I'm actually moreso a fan of my body style then the new ones, though. I kind of like the boxey look. I had a 95 Tahoe before this, so I have grown used to seeing that in my SUV. I just wish I had the guts of the '07 in my 2000.

I was going to put a 383 Stroker in my 95 because it had a rear main seal leak and I fgured if I am going to go through all the work of pulling the engine, I might as well drop a new one in it. Especially considering it had 155,000 miles on it. Instead traded that beast in for the Escalade.

I was considering the spacer thing. I was kind of hoping to get tires big enough to not need to do that, know what I mean?

Any suggestions on the lowering question?
