I just got my 2006 DTS with the DVD Navigation system.I'm very disappointed with the coverage, if you don't live in a major city, you're out of luck!
Does anyone know of a way to get additional coverage?
Ed
Ed - don't know of a way to get extra coverage, but I would add that the nav system in the 2006 DTS is not up to the standard set by Infiniti or Acura. The graphics are pretty basic, and the functionality seems a step or two behind.
Are you finding that the roads you travel on are not included on the disk at all? In terms of roads around metro NY, the disk appears to be pretty current, but I can't speak for anywhere else.

Generally, the roads are included outside metro area, but voice prompt and map prompt directions are not available for anything but rochester metro area.Wish I knew about DTS shortcoming before we bought.Dealer is apparently clueless.I understand cad has at
least 4 different nav. systems. Is there a site that compares the various factory installed nav. systems?

The navigation system in my 06 DTS is the only one I have ever had, and on a recent trip to rural southern Illinois I was quite satisfied with the maping that was shown. I didn't have any problems, as all the rural roads I had to use were properly shown.

Yes, map coverage is available, but voice prompts aren't.

Are you sure have the map highlighted for the area you are in. For example all of the roads will show up across US but that is all. You must select the region you want the information for. I am in Texas, therefore I select the coverage for Texas and Oklahoma, but when I travel into the state of Louisana, I must select that region to enable voice prompts and gas stations, restraunts, rest areas, and such. Just an idea, Good Luck!
