Just got the 2006 V6 STS AWD with 1SG package, Black on Black (great car). I wanted the 18" wheels, but the dealer said the AWD is tuned only to the 17" wheels. Can I go to 18" wheels and what type (Cadilac version or some other type)

um STS AWD does come with 18" wheels.

Then again sales person did say that hud is only available in XLR. LOL

As long as the overall package is as close to the stock height as possible its fine.

Mine came standard with 17" wheels. Are you saying 18" are standard? I will have to look into this.

It was the standard wheel on the 05 sts4 with lux perf

Forgive me for not knowing package codes but the luxury performance package comes with 17" wheels and the premium luxury performance package comes with 18" wheels on the STS4. We have the 17" wheels but I see plenty of them running around town with 18" wheels.

EDIT: I just checked the Cadillac web site, my above comments were for the V8 (which I have). The v6 appears to only come with the 17" wheels. My assumption is that GM figured that putting the 18" wheel with its additional unsprung weight and larger rolling diameter, coupled to AWD would make the car excessively slow.

in 05, sts4 was only available in v8

The 2006 STS4 with the V6 only comes with the 17" wheels all around, all tires are the same size at 235/50-17. This is the only setup where Caddy recommends tire rotation.

BTW, mine works incredible in the snow/ice/rain and slush! Like it's on rails...

I was wondering the same thing because I am in the process of getting a 2007 STS AWD V6. The performance package does 18in rims as well as a suspension change if I am not mistaken. I too will be interested in getting 18in wheels.
