View Full Version : V badge and CTS script logo CTSDreams 04-03-06, 12:18 PM Just a thought for you guys. I have seen a lot of messages discussing what type of badge to have on the V with all kinds of combinations of taking the CTS off, adding other CTS logos, LS2 logos, etc......
I just got my V (traded in my 03 CTS) and did this for the V.
Removed the dealer name from the rear (easy to peel off)
got 2 new CTS logo scripts
Added the CTS logo over the V badge.
The CTS matchs right up with the V badge and looks good sitting on the top edge of the V badge. Makes it look like it was built that way.
I realize that some of you like the V to be naked, so just my thought on it in case anyone else wants to add it to theirs. :bouncy: Kadonny 04-03-06, 01:13 PM Pics? Not sure I'll like it, but I'd like to see it. rand49er 04-03-06, 03:14 PM I am gonna figure this out if it kills me!!!
I took a pic of my LS 6 tag on my car, and I haven't yet been able to resize the darn thing from 887 kb down to 197 kb to get it on this post! :rant2:
Anyway, I'm trying to visualize the CTS tag over the V on the left side of the trunk ... not bad, not bad. Got5onit 04-03-06, 06:04 PM I am gonna figure this out if it kills me!!!

Copy and paste your picture in paint. Then resize it. If teh picture doesn't cover the entire sheet(white area) make sure to size that as well before saving. Don't forget to save it as a JPEG. Hope this helps. rand49er 04-03-06, 08:03 PM Hey, thanks, Got5onit. As soon as my wife gets off the desktop (I'm on the laptop right now), I'll give it a try. DILLIGAF 04-03-06, 09:02 PM This is really easy to use http://www.imageshack.us/ so easy I can use it. I'll take a photo of it tomorrow and post it here. I did it to the side v-badge. I left the rear stock (CTS on the right and V-badge on the left). I like the way the side ones look with the CTS on it. :bouncy: CTSDreams 04-05-06, 06:20 PM Pics? Not sure I'll like it, but I'd like to see it.
Not the best picture, but at least you should get an idea. I think it looks better from a distance, but then you don't get to see the actual letters... ChicagoCTS32 04-05-06, 07:12 PM Looks good dreams. CTSDreams 04-05-06, 07:20 PM I am gonna figure this out if it kills me!!!

Go to this webpage and get the free graphic program. It's about the best free one out there to do quck touch-ups, resize, change formats, view, etc.... It's been around for a number of years and the guy keeps adding to it. No charge and no requirement to register to use it... Small down load and easy to use. Help file tells you how to use it if you get stuck. Also does screen captures, plays sound and movie files..... http://www.irfanview.com/ Do a google on IRFANVIEW if you want more info..... THat's what's so great about any mod.... to each their own... currently how you have I dont like it...it has to have some space in between the two...I may have missed somethign and you just rested it up there for pics, then it's ok...but even if it were spaced out I think it would be too much clutter....but thats just my opinion. THat's what's so great about any mod.... to each their own...
True enough, it's your car, and it's what matters to you. Although I bet you're probably right and a pic taken that close doesn't give it the same look as from back away a bit. mostoyzwinz 04-06-06, 08:13 AM the uninformed could conclude it's a std cts and the v was added. not the distinction i'd be lookin' for. the simply v is nicely understated. however, it's your ride so go for it and thanks for sharing it. lawfive 04-07-06, 09:19 PM That looks like ass. Now that's a nice touch. Is the "S" upside down? rand49er 04-09-06, 08:54 AM Now that's a nice touch. Is the "S" upside down?Dang it! Sure looks like it in this photo. I'm going out to the garage right now and check it out. Dang!!! :rant2: I don't know, it might be. Here's the same "S" to compare.

If that's the OEM setup then that's it. The S this way works much better with the a T than an L...just seems to be spacing config depending up the preceding letter. I think the the 6 is too far away. He has it like this LS 6. It would look more natural like this, LS6. I edited the photo, you be the judge. There is only ONE right way to do this. Failure to copy this will result in ridicule and shame. Something I've become very good at. :thehand: :tisk: And yes, you must add the BB exhaust, with X-pipe and catless headers. Otherwise you're a wimp. >There is only ONE right way to do this. Failure to copy this will result in ridicule and shame.

I like it. Is that a red L? Where did you get the license plate frame? Tom Paine 04-11-06, 05:09 PM As for blasphemy, I took off the Cadillac badge (i can't stand it) from the front grille and replaced with the v logo. Cadillac needs to udate their ugly logo. I like it. Is that a red L? Where did you get the license plate frame?
Red LS6 - Yes. Carmotorsports. Very high quality.
License plate frame - Ebay. Cheap but lasted over two years with no corrosion. Reed or Lasstss has the other one as I bought two and found the front didn't fit. rand49er 04-12-06, 01:11 PM I think the the 6 is too far away. He has it like this LS 6. Seriously, thought, isn't that the way it's suppose to be? I mean, look at the cross brace under the hood. Granted, that space ain't much, but I think it's there nonetheless.
Anyway, Austin, can you turn my "S" around the other way, too? :histeric: :histeric: riverrat 04-12-06, 02:05 PM Her's my copy of the strut bar LS6 and when I posted it the first time I got my share of ridicule and shame so :hide: let me have it.

The only problem is, it doesn't get any bigger when I click on it making it hard to get a really good look. What matters is how it looks to you, the owner. If anyone else doesn't like it tell them they can have their say in the matter once they start writing the check for your car payment. Got5onit 04-12-06, 04:53 PM Had to throw mine in there:

Gotta love that high quality orange peel finish from GM. rand49er 04-12-06, 10:12 PM Had to throw mine in there:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/AFJsvt/CTSbadge003.jpgI see a space!!! Yes, there it is ... between the S and the 6.
Now, for a screwdriver :alchi:... vodka and ... riverrat 04-12-06, 10:28 PM Sorry about the size of the picture but the LS6 is a copy in style and size of the strut logo. I find that for some reason the orange peel always looks worse in digital pictures. Never appears that bad in person. Chyrsler avoids this by using metal flake in their black. If mine has orange peel (and I'm sure it does), I sure as hell can't see it. Caderac 04-15-06, 09:13 PM I prefer the chrome letters vs. the brushed aluminum effect letters off the strut bar.
So where did you guys find the individual chrome letters?? OldRoadDawg 04-15-06, 09:41 PM Some of us have ordered the letters thru this site:
http://www.badgeyourride.com
However I not completely happy with mine. Not quite the size and shape I was looking for. Anyone know where to get one like this in "CHROME", instead of the brushed aluminum that this company offers.

At 60 bucks, the one at carmotorsports is pricey, don't you think? Might even be more in chrome. Does look nice, though. Not sure but I like it....Chrome would look better...
Chef >At 60 bucks, the one at carmotorsports is pricey, don't you think? Might even be more in chrome. Does look nice, though.
That's in the ballpark for emblems.... Don't know what the chrome would go for... But i rather have it as i think it would match the chrome "V" emblem way better. Hopefully someone knows of a chrome one. blown black caddy 04-22-06, 12:21 PM Ordered one last week. It looks fine in the brushed finish. I've always tried to balance the look of the vehicle. Too much chrome and it's just another pimped out looking Car? Just my 2 cents. BowenCT 04-22-06, 12:26 PM V-badge only and nothing else, looks best............by far! V-badge only and nothing else, looks best............by far!
You may be right. I saw another V the other day that had two V emblem's on the back of each side that looked simply stupid:rolleyes: >V-badge only and nothing else, looks best............by far!
You may be right...... Adds a little mystery to the "V". |
