I'm really surprised with some of the comments on this board. I figured most Caddy owners to have a little more class. My only hope is a few people on here get the opportunity to get to know someone gay people at some point in thier life -- may help open your mind. Hell, you probably do an don't even know it.

For the record, I'm a lesbian. My cars are not gay, however I am working diligently to convert them. I did have a fixation with my CTS-V's rear but that is a topic for another day. I also must confess that I have, on occasion, dry humped my SRT-8. I'm not proud of it, it just happened.

On a serious note. I wouldn't call myself "religious", but I respect any religion that preaches tolerance, respect and understanding for thy fellow man. A couple of quotes I enjoy:

I think being gay is a choice, you have the right to whatever sexuality you prefer. BUT, I absolutely hate when college campuses hold these "Gay Pride Walks" where a bunch of gays gather and wear t-shirts that say "I'm gay, get over it". Doing that is just asking for trouble, I think you should remain silent about your sexuality, it isn't an issue that should arise in a conversation. I have a few gay friends that are fun to be around and just all-around good people. They work hard and enjoy going out with me and my other non-gay friends.

Yup, I agree with what speedy said. As long as you're not pushy about your sexuality, its cool with me. Same with religion and politics.

I have three gay friends (two females and one male) and they all drive small trucks.

I personally don't give half of a rat's ass about anyone's sexual orientation. I have a few gay friends (two guys one girl), it doesn't bother me at all. All I care is that first of all they are not fluorescent, and second of all they respect that I am not gay and neither understand nor care to understand what exactly it is to be gay.

My friends respect that their way is not my way, and do not try to convince me otherwise. I find that most gay people I run across are like that too. There's a city nearby that seems to have about four times the normal gay population, and I never have any problem with anyone there.

As for my term Flourescent, I use that to represent a gay person who is beyond outwardly gay (what some people call "flaming"). The Fluorescent person goes out of his way to throw it in everyone's face that he is in fact gay, do everything he can to emphasize and get other people to acknowledge this fact, and often will even take a "don't you wish you were gay" attitude toward non gay people. I don't parade my girlfriend, or my heterosexuality all over the place and put them in everyone's faces.

The gay community has essentially screwed itself with the things it stirred up a couple years ago. The marches and posters and the like do not help your case, they piss people off. My company was doing an installation at a restaurant in Ferndale, MI a few months ago, someone left a gay something or other flyer on all the cars in the parking lot. I mailed the thing back, with a letter voicing these views on the subject.

In terms of political recognition, pushing people to vote on those issues at this time was idiotic, they should have waited until the common stigma faded more to even think about doing that. All that was accomplished was that the gay community will have an even harder time with these issues, and all it will do now is build the stigmas more because of more marches and more protests and more idiotic signs.
