:stirpot: No, I haven't bypassed the moving lockout yet,

.....................however there is a workaround that will easily allow you to pre-program 25 addresses (and I can increase this to 45) which will be accessible destinations whiile you are driving. In other word, if you start driving before you select one of these 45 pre-programmed locations to be your destination, or if you wish to change your destination (while the car is moving) to one of these 45 pre-programmed destinations, , I know how to do it, and probably you do also.

I won't take the time to explain or bore you unless someone is interested. Just ask.:welcome:

I'll be the first to ask. That would be awesome!

OK, I'll bite. Let's hear the details. I hope it's not the VR system!

The storage area "Memory Points" Holds 60 destination locations for each driver, and this 60 can be divided into the four renameable categories. What might be unknown to most of us (it took me a year to figure this out) is that the first 5 locations under each category are visible while we are driving. The only thing that disappears on that screen is the scroll buttons (meaning that normally you can only see the first five in the category while driving and you can't scroll down the list). But.......you can activate any of those 5 as a destination without stopping the car. Now since there are 4 categories (renameable) which also can be selected while driving, you actually can see at least 20 (4 x 5 ) destination locations. To further enhance this, you can sort the entire list under each category by name, distance, or icon, even while driving. The distance one is uselss in this case but NAME and ICON button can be used while driving and will determine which 5 under each category shows up while driving.

So, let's say you put 40 locations in MEMORY POINTS, divided into 10 in each category. Now you put ICONS only in front of 5 in each category. With careful selection of naming for the categories, you could make the non-icon destinations show up when you push the NAME button and the icon'd destinations when you press the icon button.

Therefore you have a choice of 5 alphabetized and 5 icon'd destinations under each of the 4 categories that you can access while driving and select and activate as a destination.

In addition to this there are 5 or 6 preset destinations, all of which can be activated while driving. (difficulty here is that there are only 5 or 6 numbered icons for these presets and you have to remember which is which. (why they couldn't allow selecting unique icons for the PRESETS) is a testament to the lack of experience and insight into the needs of a NAV user.

So far, I guess this is clear as mud...but it seems clear to me, at least as clear is anything can be in the convoluted, tortuous, malprogrammed, counterintutitive "user unfriendly" system.

In any case I am assuming everybody knows how to get stuff into the memory points and to assign names and icons....but would be glad to help.

The system allows 60 memory points per driver and there are 4 categories under Memory Points (each of the 4 being renameable). What you might not know, and what took me a year to figure out, is that the first 5 programmed destinations under each of the Memory Point categories can be seen and activated while driving. Each of the 4 categories can be selected also. The only thing that disappears while driving is the scrolling button......so no matter how long the list under each category, only the first 5 can be seen. So far we have 4 categories times 5 locations gives of 20 locations. Also there are an additional 5 preset destinations that can be activated . That accounts for the first 25.

I will write how to get an additional 20 in the next note as I already wrote this once and it disappeared into never never land.

I will write how to get an additional 20 in the next note as I already wrote this once and it disappeared into never never land.

So far we have accounted for 25 destinations that can be seen while driving. Now each of the renameable categories under Memory Points can further be indexed by NAME or ICON. When you press the NAME BUTTON it lists all the preset destinations in that category alphabetized.;....and you can see and use only the first 5 in each category. However if you put an icon in front of 5 other names, then when you select the ICON button the first 5 destinations with icons will show up under each category. That means that you can access 5 alphabetized or 5 icon'd destinations for each category or 4 x 10 = 40 destinations. Now you can add to that 40, the 5 Preset destinations which have their own numbered icons and can also be used while driving. This Totals 45 available.

I assume that everybody knows how to get destinations into memory points into this convoluted misprogrammed, counterintuitive, User un-friendly system but if not, I can help.

Wow, it looks like my first answer was saved afterall. Sorry for the duplications. I would delete the 2nd time around, but can't find a delete button for these messages. Anyway, I suppose reading everything twice won't hurt in this case.
