: BS? "aftermarket Mass Air Sensor = improved hp, torque and mileage from your car"

I'm deliberately scrambled the manufacturer name out.

The loPoTwr-FEJ Mass Air Sensor delivers improved horsepower, torque and mileage from your car, truck or SUV by simply replacing the restrictive stock mass air sensor. The factory sensor not only is a major restrictive point in stock intake systems, but it also limits the full potential of aftermarket cold air intake systems. The flow bench tested design of the loPoTwr-FEJ Mass Air Sensor provides airflow increases of up to 45% and installs in 10 minutes or less. Compatible with other aftermarket upgrades such as computer upgrades, cold air intakes, TBI spacers, free flow exhaust systems, etc.

*Available for 1994-2006 GM and 1990-2003 Ford vehicles.

-Increased horsepower and low end torque
-Improved mileage
-Simple 10 minute installation
-No other vehicle modifications required
-Optimizes cold air intakes

These things are <$400 With what I've read on here, sounds like it works, to put money in their pocket..... sound like crap? or may work?

It might work. The MAF isn't really that much of a restriction though. So if it does do anything, it's because it changed the readings to make it run leaner than stock.

On my car, the MAF is like 4" in diameter. Even with a screen, I'm sure that's not the weak link in the intake. It's pretty dang big. Hard to imagine it helping, or being worth $400.

Snake oil."

The expression has come to be synonymous with a quack remedy.

Ranger, I second that!
