I believe there is a way, but not sure it's recommended. If you can't turn on your car, it's probably the chip on the key that is going bad. I hear those little chips can go sometimes. If so, it's best to just go into your Cadillac dealer and get a new set of keys with a new chip on it. Not sure if that's the problem or not, but if you want to disable the VATS entireley, that's going to be some work I'd imagine. rayray970 03-28-06, 09:19 AM yes its the vats and i don't think its the key both keys do it and it can take up to 30 mins to get the car to start and i was told that the system is about $500 to replace and don't have the money right now to do that 96chasedeville 11-04-06, 11:54 AM bump for this, i have a 96 deville, just went to get in the car, put the key in and turned it and got nothing, says on DIC "starting disabled" "wait 3 min" then counts down to "start car" and i try and start it and nothing again. and it start the process over. I'm going to try another key to rule out the pellet issue, but if its not that anything i can do without going to dealer? i am broke broke right now, please somone help me out.....please.... My partner diaabled the key systen and activated the theft det. How did you bypass it? 96chasedeville 11-07-06, 07:29 AM i didnt , i was lucky enough to have a extra key that the resistor was good on, from what i read here you can take the ignition out and wire a resistor in-line from both side to bypass having to have a resisitor IN the key....thats about all i know my man..... | |
