Hey everyone, I am new to this site, but I know my way around cars. I just purchased a 92 sedan deville. The car is really clean and runs pretty good, but has a few problems. I have never owned a caddy before so I have a question. The car has a little miss, but if you sit there and rev it up, it sounds like it has a ton of power. As soon as you put it in drive and take off from a stop, the car starts off real slow, even if you put the pedal on the floor. After you get going it is real smooth and you can slow down and gas it and it will take off. Just from a dead stop it has no power. Also if you are moving and put it on the floor, it does not downshift, just speeds up. I changed the trans fluid and filter, and cleaned the intake, I checked one of the plugs and it looked to have a little carbon buildup on them. Has ac delco plugs and wires the guy says he put on about 2 years ago. I am thinking converter, any other ideas of things I can check. I also replaced the fuel filter. Sorry for the long question.

Isn't there a yellow Traction Control button in the glove box (or am I confusing this with my '97). Is T/C disengaged? That would relegate you to 2nd gear starts.

I don't know if it has a traction control or not. I will check that today, thank you.
