There are no rocker arms on a DOHC engine. aamusls06 03-28-06, 10:28 PM So, will this cause any damage? Is there any kind of engine treatment out there that can help this? caddydaddy 03-28-06, 10:41 PM I think it's fairly common on the Northstars. And unless it's really bad, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Can you hear it with the hood closed, or just open? Search the archives hear and see what you can find about ticking lifters on Northstars. aamusls06 03-28-06, 10:57 PM I can hear it with the hood closed. I know it's in the lifters because that's where it is coming from. Ranger 03-28-06, 11:29 PM Try some Marvel Mystery Oil or trans fluid. Put either in your oil about 500-1000 miles before the next oil change. davesdeville 03-29-06, 06:46 AM You can try the trans fluid trick, but I'm not sure I'd run it for 1000 miles. Any time there's ATF in the oil I wouldn't get on it too much, ATF will break down faster and at lower temps than oil. | |
