View Full Version : Body kit for CTS??? Goddamskippy 03-26-06, 09:16 AM hey guys looking online i saw these two body kits for our CTS. Any one have any experience with these? build quality? ease of installation? best price? I'd probably be getting the bottom one. maybe we can get some guys together for a group buy.
http://www.wickedbodies.net/03-On-Cadillac-CTS-Body-Kits.html I think I will get a wing kit and one Coral. Shipped over night ASAP. I can explain the wing kit to my wife, but I don't know how to tell her about Coral, yet! Goddamskippy 03-26-06, 10:14 AM I found this page that has it for 800 shipped. whats a coral??

look under chicks & shows in the side menu bar. Goddamskippy 03-26-06, 03:40 PM I think that coral can make a 1987 wrecker look good :) Mewantbfp 03-26-06, 07:20 PM i looked at the body kits to but fiberglass is just a waste of money. if a rock hits it it wil start to chip and you will just have to keep getting it fixed over and opver again. plus if your in an accident its screwed. once i see a poly urethane kit ill be all for it. I would rather have the V bumper.....its soooo sick!!!! I love the bottom grille for the V too OMG!!:bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: FlyFlip420 03-26-06, 08:30 PM The Vbumper is nice, I have the grill installed in the lower portion of my CTS bumper, not as big as the V grill, but still looks really good 050505songray 03-27-06, 08:15 AM Yea Im Down With The V Kit , Other Body Kits Just Are To Much I Think , Just My Opinion, But The Side Skirt On That 2nd Body Kit Are Pretty Hot , But It Is A Lac So I Dont Wanna Make It Look Like A Cheezy Ricer Lol
CHECK OUT MY RIDE
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2285011 FlyFlip420 03-27-06, 10:07 AM I have side skirts and rear bumper on the pic shown.....Dont think it looks like a cheezy racer okay, wht is the coral thing? I cant find the "chicks & shows" link on either site, help me out here
also guys, hate to hurst your bubble. but the erebuni kit is just a lip kit. in the pics its of the kit on a cts-V, the care already had the front and rear and this kit just added the underneath and the rockers and thats pretty much it.
the two kits are the same kit. one has less parts the the other, the top kit inculdes the new fenders, the bottom one does not. coral thing, got it, some chic, whatever FlyFlip420 03-27-06, 10:24 AM Kael, when we gonna race? :) You, me, and ChiCTS........Or just check out rides and BS okay, wht is the coral thing? If you want to go with that than do it... the difference between the top and the bottom is that the top one has grilles in the back bumper and comes in 1 piece where as the bottom pic back bumper comes in 3 pieces and no grille in bumper. I'm pretty sure that the V front kit is a lot cheaper than this...plus its gonna cost you close to a grand to get installation on the erebuni. Just FYI :bouncy: :bouncy: ChicagoCTS32 03-27-06, 10:42 AM Kael, when we gonna race? :) You, me, and ChiCTS........Or just check out rides and BS

Looks like they're working on a WI / Chicagoland meet... heh, all of us together I think makes up a "crew" :)
we should get together though since we all live so close to one another.
chicagocts wont come to a party though... :) RobertCTS 03-27-06, 03:52 PM Some of those kits have pieces that look good but most will not sell parts but only the whole kit.
Have you guys seen the CTS CTS-V fiberglass hood? About $800. Comes with & W/O heat extractors. It's brand new and half the price of Specter Werkes. It clears the new sport STB also. That's what I like about it!:)
http://usera.imagecave.com/BobsWork/hood-2.jpg Wow that hood looks pretty nice!!!! Robert that isnt your car is it!?!?! FlyFlip420 03-27-06, 06:00 PM Robert you dont have a pic from the inside of the car of that hood do you? Im curious as to know if you see the engine or if there is something there, where the bulge meets the window RobertCTS 03-27-06, 07:55 PM No, That's Not My Car. Just Want You Guys To See It.:) Goddamskippy 03-28-06, 09:50 AM OK GUYS so this is what im seeing for price:
800 for kit inc/shipping
500 for paint
200 for install
1500
how much would it cost for the v kit (front/rear bumpers, side skirts, and v grille)?????
thanks 050505songray 03-28-06, 09:56 AM probably around 2 or a lil more okay, skippy,(gaddamnit) listen to me here man.
there is no rear to the thing, there is NO new front.
its a lip kit, a ground affect kit, the only "new" body parts are the rockers.
the 800 dollar kit is just a 4 pc lip kit
after a few emails I am told that the pricier kit is a four piece but it has the full front with cts-v mouth and the full rear and side skirts
the fenders are sold seperatley. Mewantbfp 03-28-06, 10:25 AM also i think it would be alot more to get the kit painted when i went around for my old car i got quotes for about 1200 just to paint the kit. of course if you know people then thats a different situation. for my old car with the kit...my guy charged me a $1,050 for the paint, installation....etc. Not including the cost of the kit....so come to a total it was a little over 2 grand total for everything hey, found a place that sells the kit by the piece

go me Goddamskippy 03-28-06, 11:04 AM OK Kael, I called the guy and verified, you are correct, the bottom kit only has skirts, but it WILL fit onto a stock SCT, not a CTS-V. I looked online and saw this photo of the top kit:
http://paintedspoilers.com/images/display/ctsgfx-lg.jpg
Let me know what you guys think....
I also called a local body shop: 300 for paint (JUST for the pieces, no paint to the car), 200 for install. hope this helps RobertCTS 03-28-06, 11:12 AM OK Kael, I called the guy and verified, you are correct, the bottom kit only has skirts, but it WILL fit onto a stock SCT, not a CTS-V. Just doesn't turn me on. It's to much IMO. I like V-kit with the painted grill best.http://usera.imagecave.com/BobsWork/v-grill-5.jpg Goddamskippy 03-28-06, 11:21 AM Robbie, How much did you pay for your kit?? RobertCTS 03-28-06, 11:36 AM Robbie, How much did you pay for your kit??
With the bumper, lower grill, new fog lights and side skirts plus paint & installation..about $2000. With the bumper, lower grill, new fog lights and side skirts plus paint & installation..about $2000.
That sounds like a good price! Mmmmmm I love seeing the big lower billet grille:) Basically with the body kit...I mean you could pay $500 to get everything done...but then again your kit could look like someone slapped it on and not perfetly fit...The more the cost usually the better quality of work you will get done. I've seen some cars out there where it looks like the body kit will fall off as there driving...VERY poorly put on... I spent a lot of $$ on my first kit...and it looked like it was stock with the car.... as they would say.....you get what you pay for ;) 050505songray 03-28-06, 03:44 PM Just doesn't turn me on. yea i feel u but hey everyone got differnt taste RobertCTS 03-28-06, 03:58 PM yea i feel u but hey everyone got differnt taste
Absolutely. That's why we make the changes in order to be different and express our individuality:thumbsup: . Goddamskippy 03-29-06, 11:08 AM Thats deep robbie i like that. Im probly gonna go with the CTS-V kit instead (its polyurethane, the other is fiberglass) and i think it makes the car more aggressive as the other one makes it more gawdy. Rob do you know if the side skirts are easy to install? RobertCTS 03-29-06, 12:03 PM Thats deep robbie i like that. They are held on by clips. They usually break upon removal. I suggest ordering new ones and have them ready. i am betting there are a few aftermarket companies that are makeing the GM cts-v body pieces.
this happens after a few years.
like a new front clip for a 97 grand prix is 350 from gm but about 105 from aftermarket, no difference in materials or anything. Goddamskippy 03-29-06, 04:53 PM I tried calling around but no one is making them. I called www.bumpers.com (http://www.bumpers.com) and asked them to make them giving them a 15 piece guarantee - hopefully they'll bite and we can get a group buy together. if i get any callbacks i'll let everyone know. RScar627 03-29-06, 09:49 PM I just saw a ground effects kit on www.thespoilerfactory.com that looked pretty cool. Wish I had the extra money. There we go!! got it :)...that is the body kit on my car...I wish I would have gotten the V bumper though..I didnt know at the time that I could put the V bumper on my car so I thought I Would go with this...if only I waited a little bit longer till I joined the forums to find out this info :( Goddamskippy 03-29-06, 10:10 PM wow that really nice!!! how much did u pay for the kit??? I currently have 18's....let me say one thing....IF anyone chooses to get this body kit...you DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT want to lower the car...you will break the sh*t out of the front skirt....mine is scratched some on the bottom due to the big lip going in and out of work:mad: But I use touch up paint when I get hopme ther night if I end up doing a bottom fall..YEa, I like the 18's better on the car...it keeps the sporty look going on....you will def be happy with them.
Skippy I Will get you all that information tomorrow...I have the records in a file in my office... OK heres the info.....
I paid a total from the company to my door for the bodykit cost $1,052.
The installation + paint total cost me $942 RobertCTS 03-30-06, 10:06 AM Jonny,

I had the guy right across the street from my business do it...lol..its like 30 yards to get to his place from my work:) He does very good work...I had no complaints when the car was done except for one spot where it looked like a little dot of paint fell on my car, which his painter buffed right out:bouncy:
IT does chip easily...got to watch them bumps:want: FlyFlip420 03-30-06, 09:42 PM GREAT PRICE!! :woohoo: Goddamskippy 03-31-06, 10:43 AM Wow Kael, that solstice and the mustang look nice!!! are they a supporting supplier for these forums?? i wonder how many of these they would need to sell to break even... ErockCTS 03-31-06, 07:30 PM wow many that body kit looks sick on the car ... plus lookin at the pics just made me think about gettin the roof spoiler and deck lid spoiler :) wow many that body kit looks sick on the car ... plus lookin at the pics just made me think about gettin the roof spoiler and deck lid spoiler :)
