speakers i would definitely choose kappa
ive got 2 pairs for sale if you want =)
4x6 and 6x9s

but subs, check out crutchfield, they always have some good sales. then always compare it with ebay too. im looking at alpine type s, elemental designs, or infinity reference right now.

if youve got a little more money, but not enough for the jl...adire audio has a great 12" with the shiva model

Chuck how much you sellin them Kappas for?

Products I recommend:
Subs: JL Audio, Memphis, Kicker L5's or L7s
Speakers: Infinitys
Amps: Memphis Mojo - 2500W; Memphis D Block Amp; Kicker Amp(s)

I would say get a pair of Image Dynamics components for the front $350, Amplify with DLS amplifier for $350, for a subwoofer i would say get an adire shivia or tempest or an Image Dynamics 12" ID or IDQ for $125-200. You can power the front speakers with the amplifiers front channels and the subwoofer with the sub channel from the amplifier. You could upgrade the rear speakers and just run them off of the Pioneer. It should sound awesome and you'd be able to crank it up pretty loud.

I have always been a fan of Rockford subs. I got the power T1's in 12".
I tend to stay away from rockford amps (blew a 250@2, 550s twice, X6). I've seen my share of amps. LOL
Never been a fan of Kicker amps until lately, good stuff.
But i will never buy another amp that is not JL, preferably (500/1, it runs the same power from 8ohms to 1.6 ohms so it is very flexible if you change your sub setup often) they have the best amp controls and are very underrated.

true but JL audio is expensive for the money of a 500/1 you can get a kicker 1200.1 which outputs 1200 at 1 ohm (actually underrated it does more like 1500 at 1 ohm) 600 (or 800) at 2 and 400 (or around 550) at 4 ohms

Chuck how much you sellin them Kappas for?

i really dont know, i guess it depends on what the ebay market is getting for them.

::checks ebay::

for the 4x6 and 6x9 together, youre nearing 250 bucks after shipping. idk how much it would be to ship these, and i wouldnt be intending on a shipping profit.

100 bucks + sh takes all four speakers.

im not putting them back in my car because i just took the 6x9s out (and LOTS of other things) to open up some space for the subs to push more air through. i lost a little volume, and a little fill from the back, but at high volumes the bass more than compensates =]

as for the 4x6 cfp...i cant say enough good things about these speakers. id LOVE to find a place to mount them in my deville, cuz these things can SCREAM!

pm any questions, or email chuckdobbins@hotmail.com aim to thecadiiiackid (yes thats 3 i's)

chuck isnt there room in the dash for a 4x6 speak in the center under the defog grille?

Where's he going to be able to get power for it? It would sound terrible if it was hooked up to just the left or right channel.

hes not using his rear speakers he could very easily use one of the rear wires for the dash speak

It would still sound terrible since the sound stage would be so messed up it would pull terribly hard to the left or right.

not really... i have it on my moms 96 deville and its sounds a shit load better than not

On my car I compete for sound quality, and I know that if it was just left or right my score would be terrible for imaging. But since I have 5.1 capabilities in my car I could hook up a center channel correctly if I wanted to and possibly raise my score.

so i pulled off that little grate cover thing on the dash today. yup, theres definitely mounts for a 4x6 speaker to get in there.

with a pair of pliers, and a little elbow grease i think i could make my 4x6 kappa cfp's fit in there. but that poses the problem of power.

ive got no rear speakers, so i suppose i could run speaker wire from there all the way to the dash...but like somebody was saying, theres no center channel. would connecting this speaker (which i think sounds amazing by the way) to either a left or right channel make things sound...idk how to say it...off ?

i dont know if its worth the trouble in the end.

if it can handel the power and i believe kappas can connect both your rear left and rear right speaker wires to the 4x6 then fade it more to the front to balance out the power remember your going to be pushing that speaker with double the power and otherwise it will sound louder than the rest of your speaks. this only works for you mainly and will have no ill effects due to the non use of those speaker wires for anything else.

i dont think connecting both the left and right channels sounds too safe =/

it doesnt matter anyways, theres no way ill be able to fit the 4x6 kappa that i have cuz the magnet is not only far too big, its also off-center. whatever, ill just sell them i guess.

Yay, finaly, someone else who appreciates good speakers ( ID ) that is, just do what carmaster said and get a pair of chameleon components from Image Dynamics, and put them in your door, put a big amp to them and wa la, you wont need any other mids....

I have just a pair of 6.5 chameleon mids and compression horns in my 01 dts, and thats all i need for mids and hi's, i have about 250 watts to each door on seperate amps and its louder than most other stereos out there with weird sized speakers in the dash and (dont ask me why you would want rear fill back door speakers but) back door speakers too...

infinity kappa speaks are the best (and ill add this tagline to avoid any argument) IN MY OPINION AND MANY OTHER OPINIONS AS WELL

subs id go JL Audio once again this is my opinion

carmaster

I probably shouldn't be asking this and I'm not looking for an arguement but how come you've been only choosing the Kappa line, being infinity's low level line? Why not the Perfect or the Reference?

CadillacSTS2003
04-12-06, 03:18 PM
kappa is not the low level line reference is then its kappa perfects

chuckdobbins
04-12-06, 10:17 PM
HECK! even the reference line is good!

i had 2 reference 12s in my first two cars, and i put a reference 10 in my brothers car. NEVER should have got rid of them =(

carmaster
04-13-06, 08:14 AM
Opps I guess the reference is the lower line, I was always under the impression that the references were the good ones.
