How much will go in when i chance oil in transmission.Owners manual dont show transmission fluid capasity only engine.

What is wrong or broken when in engine cold and i put shift d or reverse and transmission wont engage before car slightly warmes?and after that its work beautiful..........:alchi:

I'm pretty sure it's 6 quarts for a fluid and filter change.

There are probably many possible reasons, but one thing I came up with.

A 4T60E has a thermo-element to keep ATF somewhere up in the transmission when ATF gets warm. It is a little plate thing that you can reach from the bottom of the transmission by removing the pan. I honestly don't know if this is a cause, but this could be.

i chanced fluid,filter and checked that thermo-element its look ok.
Transmission is still doing on cold not engage drive and reverse positions but will do that in 3 2 1 position.Will this broke the hole transmission if i keep using it remembering that car must be lightly warm before driving?

i have been having the same problem latley.
anyone else see this before???

can it hurt my tranny?
