The Cadillac STS has a facelift in the works, likely for the 2008 model year. The big four-door gets a new, Escalade-inspired grille treatment, with a more detailed chrome treatment and a subdued mesh grille. The STS's new face looks much lighter and more expressive than the current model's - a subtle but effective update. New taillights ditch the full red lenses, in favor of styled LED lamps that complement the STS's chiseled lines. The clear lenses have only a sliver of red reflector at the inside edges, but separate vertical LED strips glow red (braking) or orange (turn signals) in a truly eye-catching display. It appears that two additional reflective red strips have been added between the tailpipes, but it's unclear whether this is a final production application, or merely a safety add-on for testing purposes. We expect similar updates to be applied to the CTS and SRX models, to tighten up Cadillac's revamped family look.

Interesting. Out of all of them, I guess I never expected the STS to get a refresh that significant for a while...but I guess '08 will be model year #4, so it probably is due.
That grille doesn't look that great...but I guess it might once they take the tape and plastic off and everything is painted.

Isn't that just a Euro model STS?

Notice that the article refers to the 2007 STS. GMinsidenews also hints of a new grill for the 2007 model. We may be looking at next year's model here. Those tailights sure do appear to be the euro model.

The tail-lamps, rear fog lights (two red strips on lower rear panel) and the trunk lid are all European model so this may or may not have anything to do with potential US versions. Also notice that the rear seat has the third headrest which also only currently shows on the Euro models sooooo.
Since GM has been very specific to keep the US/Euro models apart (unlike Lex/others i.e. - folding side view mirrors etc.) I am a bit skeptical on this as well but won't assume one way or the other.

That is not a STS for the US market but it is a 2007.

Who wrote that drivel?? Where's the "Escalade" grille or the "lighter more expressive" treatment. It's the effect of the telephoto lens that makes the front look a little smaller. The front facia is exactly the same as the current car. The headlamp unit is the same. The grille casting itself is different, but it's mounted in the same hole as the currrent car. And the rear is basically the European spec STS (the reflector strips in the lower facia and the clear lenses.) Also, the 3 headrests in the rear seat tell me that this is simply a European STS being tested.
