Right now I have 2 MB Quart 15s... running off 2 1000w mb quart amps... just wanna switch it up... probably wanna do 4 12s or 4 10s... most likely 12s if i can make it fit somehow. If I have to use 2 amps I will... if I run it off one amp its ok too. Help me out. Thanks.

I got 2 mtx's 5500's and 1000w amp im running now. hits hard, but the lights do dim slightly on the bass hits. You will definately need 2+ amps for the setup your looking at.

It all depends on what kind of bass your looking for. If you want ghetto "womp" bass or clean deep hitting bass? Are you looking for spl or musicality or both? 4 12"s will definetly give you a cleaner and harder hitting bass than 2 15"s. The db range might not be as deep but your definetly moving more airspace. If your going for loud loud stuff then you want to feed your subs the most power they can handle...even running an amp per voice coil if it's a dvc configuration.

I dont wanna destroy my eardrums but I would like it louder then it is now. Also I think 12s would be cleaner. Any suggestions on Companies? I've been thinkin of 4 12" Infinity Perfects

Honestly speaking, I think the Alpine TYPE-X sub is the best there is right now. They are very musical and can be monsters if you want them to be. Image Dynamics IDMAX was also a good contender but if you just looked at the sub wrong it would break. The Alpine is built like a workhorse...if you ever see one in person you will know. Eclipse Titanium series is also a very loud hitter but also retains the musicality. Nowadays I'm more into how the music sounds rather than how loud it can go. With the TYPE-X's, you can crank them to do that or match them to your music.

BTW...4 Alpine TYPE-X 12"s would need LOADS OF POWER. Your talking about 1000w RMS and 3000w peak. Definetly don't underpower this sub.

personally I would rather have Two 15's over four 12's anyday.

Yes...bragging rights wise 15"s would look sick. But i've seen tons of cars with 15"s (me included) that it doesn't have that wow factor to me anymore. 4 12"s will definetly move more air...that you can't breathe feeling bass. 2 15"s would hit DEEEEP but messy.

Im thinking of getting my bed done with 2-13" W7 JL Audio and 2-1000/1 powering each speaker. The whole bed is going to be fiberglass and painted to match the truck. Im still talking to my local shop to see what kind of deal he can hook me up with.

I cant do that because I actually use my truck for work. I throw open house signs, real estate posts and other crap in the back . Right now i lose about 1 ft off the bed... use the rest for work. 2 15s are pretty clear but not loud at all compared to my kicker L7s that I had in my last car.

Yea that's what I was thinking too... That should slam JR. I was going to go with some 12W6V2's, but thieves have made me put the brakes on it. I may work something out with Syn, he's going to be getting rid of his kicker L7's. If I do go with the JL Audio set-up, my speakers are going to have to be used.. Cause I can't really budget $600 a sub.

I have always thought JL is way overpriced. I told my guy if I can bring in the subs and amps that way I can get them cheaper online.

Sorry I hit the wrong button my supervisor walked into my office.
For the back doors I will be using the 6.5xr speaker and for the head unit I will use a Kenwood. Sorry for the double post.
