I stopped and picked up a new radiator cap for my 89 Brougham today since I read that alot of the old ones are junk and may cause coolant loss. Just wondering if there is anything I need to do other than let the engine cool off and switch the caps. My new cap has a pressure valve thingy on it. (as you can tell I am not mechanically inclined).

Uh yeah, detailed instructions:

1. Wait til it's cooled down.

2. Push down and turn counterclockwise to remove cap.

3. Push down and turn clockwise to replace cap.

Same concept as a bottle of Xanax. haha!!!!!!!

Also, might as well check the coolant while youv'e got it open. Teehee.

The coolant is supposed to be green. Tastes kinda sweet too.

Not looking for smart answers just answers to be sure nothing will go wrong. I did not know if the pressure release on the cap had to be adjusted prior or not.
