Any 4T80E with 3.71. STS, ETC, DTS, Deville Concours 1996-1999, or another Aurora with that trans.

How am I going to tell which one has it when visiting JY.

I guess not on an Aurora unless you see the RPO code on its code sheet for your package. Any STS, ETC, DTS, or 1996+ Concours will do though.

was that only VIN code 9 for the 371 gear?

I found a 99 pretty cheap locally but they say it wont work in my 95.
Anyone know what the difference is?

No difference in 4t80e transmissions from 1993 to 2000+. Final drives can be swapped out if necessary. The large snap ring can be a PITA, but it's very straightforward. A little messy.

I went waltzing thru my Gm parts listings and found one part# of 95-6
reman 24204809,and 99 is 24223493.
If they are all interchangeable then why is the GM reman # different?
I did remember that after 96 they fixed the shft solenoids and I believe
the wiring harness issue that was wicking fluid.

Hmmmmm...............

I don't know, I thought they were all the same?

can anyone else verify if its maybe just a small change such as a sensor or something?
hopefully its not something deep inside of trans

Maybe the harnesses are different. Hmmm.... I don't think so though.

As for vin 9, that would only apply to a Cadillac. You don't need to look at the vin though if it's the STS, ETC, DTS, 1996+ Concours though, since they all have it.

Im going to research the pinouts for 95 and 99 on the trans connector and see if they are the same.

I checked the pinouts for 95-6 against 99. there are 2 circuits that are different #s but may be as simple as fused power and accessory power.
however it does seem as tho the 20 pin connector is different.
Also found a wiring harness for input speed sensor that only goes up to
4/26/96 so there must be a change at that date.Has anyone put a later model trans in a 95-6?

I need to get this swap done.
No one at tranny shops I know will commit to if it will work or not.
Most comment that they go by the book and if the paint is wrong color it wont work.
i cant blame them as they dont want to experiment at the labor expense of doing another tranny swap if it didnt work.
Im still thinking its just the wiring harness plug and input sensor thats different.
Someone please tell me if youve done this.
