Damnit, just spent 30 mins w/ da original post. Stupid error screen. haha

Anyways, I had my Eclipse HU installed acouple months ago and it came out like shieet. I had it done so I could get da 2 year extended warranty on my Eclipse AVN 5435. Kept seeing pics of peeps on this forum w/ the nice navi setup. I wanted da 03+ clean look. Anyways, I read about fabricating and decided to do it myself. Intimidating at first, but I wasn't stressing because I had already done most of the stuff on my ride w/o any experience. I've been lagging on my system, but it will be done, haha. I'm upgrading my HU so if anybody wants my mint cond Eclipse AVN 5435, I'll let it go for 1K obo. Sorry admin, I know yall gonna bittch at me for not putting in classifieds. Anyways, I'll post pics of my whole setup next time, got 3 12s in a custom box behind my 3rd row ready to wired up. Here ya go fellas.

attached the plastic kit the shop used originally to my bezel by gluing after cutting cutting a larger hole.

applied xtra epoxy and fiberglass to get it firm

after letting it cure for a day, I slapped on the fiberglass and moulded the shape. just used my fingers and plugged in all the gaps.

after fiberglass dries, this is where you begin to mould your piece to exactly how you want it. used high grit paper and sanded until I got my shape. Used the low grit to get it smoooooth.

after that was done, I primered the da damn thing.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a305/Lisa_74/96c5c6e5.jpg

another day of drying and then started the paint. I used textured paint to get that plastic feel to it. Friend showed me how to spray, spray far and light light coats. Repeat this step like 10x.

Finally, after a week and a half, I couldn't wait anylonger... pulled out my dad's halogen light to speed up da process.

Finished product. There are acouple imperfections but not that noticeable. I sanded my wood trim alittle, got alittle crazy w/ the sand paper.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a305/Lisa_74/IMG_0611.jpg

what i used: fiberglass resin, epoxy glue, some other plastic glue, plastic primer, textured paint, and some 150 n 600 sand paper. You can go to your local home depot and get all this stuff.

o yeah, check out how ugly it was, the b4 pics. Mine is on the last page, it's the one with the HU sticking out with a trim kit slapped over the bezel.

Look awesome!!! I'm about to do the same.
Did u retexture the other side where the light/mirrior controls are??
If not, Is it a noticable difference?

nope, just left it alone. I got lazy, but suprisingly, it don't look that much different, I guess b/c it's blk and it blends in. the fabricated part is a little darker and has a different texture. I guess I can spray clear coat later on if I want to get that smooth bumpy feeling like the stock plastic is. I

Nice, and glad to see I'm not the only other guy with the liquid air-freshner things clipped to the vents lol. They work pretty well.

Nice work on this one! I think you should add another finish to it. Maybe fiberglassed? I think that would look good, to go with that monitor you have.

Yea... Suck has a clean LADE! You should post some pictures of your LADE though SUCK, the whole thing. Thanks for the wheels again! I still have them, I may have to put them on, I'm trying to get some 24's and may have to get rid of my 22's and 23's to do it.

Synergetic.. What model are your amps? I'm just curious, I have 2 DX700's.. Later this year, I'm going to make some more mod's with my sound system. Just not that interested right now with the recent attempts of theft. I have some other little things with my LADE I need to take care of first anyway. THANKS
