I would like to change to Sirius on my 2005 Platinum ESV. Any help on the pitfalls, best unit, and best way to install would be greatly appreciated.:bigroll:

Do you have the stock radio? I know there is a Pioneer PNR-1 Sirius radio, but you have to have a Pioneer deck to use it. The antenna that is on your ride will work you just have to trim the plastic around the connector.

I used this:

and this:

I used the stock xm antenna and everything plugged in fine.
for the conversion box you need constant power, there is a fuse box under the dash.

Wait a second, I don't understand...so with this all switched over, will you still be able to use the oem 6 disc cd changer? Also where is the antenna going to mount?

In my 04 with Nav, CD chager still works, used the stock antenee. Read the reviews that customers wrote, its not hard.

Thats the only way to go and its on sale too cheaper than JP Customs though they probably would match Crutchfields price.

Do you have XM already? If so, the install is simple.

I used the SIR-GM1 from Crutchfield on all my GM's. Unplugged the XM cable, plugged in the Sirus cable and reused the XM antenna cable. Works great. Had it for 8 months now with no issues.

Crutchfield's SIR-GM1 looks great but it says it is not compatible with 2007. I wonder if there is a SIR-GM2 in the making.

I just spoke with a Crutchfield rep and there is no known update for the SIR-GM1 and he confirmed it is not compatible with 2007. I would expect they will eventually update compatibility. Anyone with experience on 07?
