I have a 2005 STS and the in dash accessory tray won't open. I keep nothing in it so I am assuming that the plastic cover over the power outlet has jammed. I can't figure out any way to get it open and don't want to go throught the headaches of having the whole dash taken apart. I need it as I have my laptop plugged in to the backseat outlet and my PDA/cell phone plugged in to the console outlet between the seats.

Any suggestions? I have tried a credit card but with no success.

Hmmmm, I'm certainly no help but perhaps EWill can offer some insight since he works on these.

I will be curious however to hear what caused it and the fix action so I can avoid it happening to me!

Same thing just happened to me. no real answer but i just kept pushing in and out on it till it popped. Apply even pressure all the way around with two hands and keep doing it. Mine came loose after a while

I had the same thing happen, it wouldn't open when I pressed it...instead it would randomly open some time afterward. The dealer ended up replacing the tray.

Had mine replaced months ago. Penny got in it. Take to dealer they will order new tray and open the one you have now.
