I finally got to se the new escalade in person I would have to say to everyone that bought it, you made a great buy.

Loved it from the inside and the front exterior. I still dont like it from the sides and back, but overall I think it is a great buy. Just wanted to let you know you made a great choice.

My dealership gave me a 07' silver one to drive last weekend, still waiting for mine :( and I loved it, the sides and the back are growing on me, love the front end and interior, engine and trans were great too, rode much nicer and smoother, and handling and steering were greatly improved as well.

Hey it's a dumb question but how fast does it go 0-60mph, I mean 403hp and 6 gear transmission, it should be quite sharp.

I think the interior is light years ahead of the previous models in refinement. So far, I only like the black esclades with the 22 inch chrome wheels. Other colors are ok, but the stock 18 inchers or whatever that come on the base make the truck look ugly as hell.

agree... if i was forced to have an 07 it would have to be black with the 22's... the other colors and the 18's are eh...

i just think its time for a 06 m5... now that will be my new escalade

Car and Driver recently tested the '07 Denali (which has the same engine as the new Escalade but only 380 hp) and it did 0-60mph in 6.2 sec......pretty good for a full-size SUV.

Funny thing is, the new Escalade ads in the car magazines claim that it goes 0-60mph in 6.7 secs....so unless the new Denali is tremendously lighter (which I highly doubt), the Escalade should be at LEAST as fast. (Whatever the case, to me, SUV's are not drag racers....I won't lose sleep over it).

I agree that luxury SUV-s are never meant for drag races, but I am really amazed to hear that Caddy Escalade goes to 60 in 6,7 secs. Unbelievebable, my brother just bought a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 and its acceleration is also around 6 secs! You just gotta love that truck, congrats

the 07's are sweet - inside and out. as i've said before - i'm a huge fan of the 07 and my favorites are the front end, dash, more hp, a couple more bells and whistles, etc. however, the 30% price increase over my 05 doesn't seem justified (for those keeping score at home - that's about $17K). i live in the burbs of chicago and have only spotted one 07 on the road. who knows - maybe it was pete (it was black on black).

......what's even scarier is that SUVs and trucks are getting faster and faster........the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 (420+hp) goes 0-60 in 4.5 sec!........the Porsche Cayeene Turbo S (520hp) also goes 0-60 in 4.5 sec!.....and the upcoming Mercedes ML65 AMG will supposedly have close to 600 hp and go 0-60 in 4.3 sec!!.....not too long ago, these kind of numbers were reserved only for exotic sports cars.......What is this world coming to!!:eek:

....could be me?:) .......yeah, the '07 is pricey, but you have to remember that this is a completely redesigned and re-egineered vehicle.....the improvement in power, ride, handling and luxury features is HUGE over the old models........on the flip side, when you really think about it though, it doesn't make sense how an American-made car can command such a big price increase......I mean you can understand German cars costing so much (my '04 545i cost nearly $70K!) due to the weak dollar against foreign currency......but hey, if Cadiilac can sell big numbers of the '07 at this price point, more power to 'em.

My 2003 listed for 59,025.00 without Nav, my 2007 lists for 65,680.00 with Nav and 22's, all options except rear DVD (don't drive from the back), take off the 22's and the Nav and the price would be about 61,500.00, that's under a $2500.00 difference for 4 model years, or $625.00 a year increase, not that bad. :)

This type of performance does bother me somewhat. I hate to think of what can happen when an SUV takes off at that rate and needs to stop quickly or has a child distract the driver while moving.. I hope the braking systems keep pace.

i think if you are accelerating from 0-60 in 4.5 sec ! the kid would be too far impacted into the seat to distract you!!, i was going to get a srt-8 before an escalade but my brother bought one b4 i had a chance!!
