Hello I was wanting to know if anyone can post or email me some pictures of thier escalade with 22" Wheels that have 285/45R22 tires. I am understanding that 285/45R22 tires are the better way to go so you will not have rubbing issues etc. but I want to see how big of a wheel gap they leave.

Thanks

There is a possibility of rubbing issues if you go with 304/45/22. I currently have 305/40/22 and I love the ride, but I wish I would have gotten the 45 because of the wheel well issue. The gap is just so large. I have heard of people saying they have had rubbing issues with 305/45/22 and people who have said they have not had any rubbing issues with the 305/45/22. It just depends on the Escalade. Every Escalade is different. If you were worried about rubbing, just go with the 305/40/22. Here are some pictures of my Escalade below on 305/40/22.

Thanks.

305/45/22's rub so slightly, that its easy to fiw with a couple of nylon zip ties in black to pull back the inner wheelwell. And a small snip of the lower front lip of the outer fender(I did it with a hack-saw, and believe me, Im no HACKER.) Problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no rubbing issues.. Plus the ride is a little better with a 45 series tire, because you have more rubber to absorb shock and vibration from the road. Not to mention that the 45 does fill the wheel well a little better. Try a 305/45 and have them turn the wheel all the way in both directions, you may not have to shave anything or you might. BoomBotz has a 305/45/22 series tire and he doesn't have any rubbing issues. That's the reason I went with the 45 series tire. If your uncomfortable with the 305/45 you can downsize to a 285/45 which isn't as wide as the 305. Thing is to have them test for rubbing before you make your final decision.. Good luck!

So I can have them put the tires on and test for rubbing before I even buy them? I thought I had to buy them first...

u just ahve to snip a little bit of the plastic stuff in teh fenders. i used some Cutco scissors and worked great. I would do the 305/45. when i used to valet a guy came in on the 285's or something A. looks tooo small and B. ride was sooo harsh i thought i was in my buddies lowered trucks. go bigger for better ride.

Hey SinisterJ how did that sub install in the rear panel go? Please post some pics of the install and please post your DIY, I've been waiting forever for that. I have 285/45/22 tires on my 06 Blue Chip and they are look great, no rub but they do have some signifigant tire gap. I have the same size tires on my 07 Blue Chip also and they have much less tire gap than on the 06.

hello yes I meant to give everyone an update on that... I had a panel out of an 02 on order and then they came back and told me that they could not get one so after weeks of going backwards and forwards I just gave up... I did install the sub though and had it running for a couple of days and it sounded good! I have pics of the install I can email them to you if you want me to... But basically I gave up on the project because of getting parts difficulties:(
