View Full Version : How much to install a lift in your Garage?

I would love to install a hydrolic lift in my garage. Does anyone have any idea how much it costs to install one? If its totally cost prohibitive, what do the metal framed lifts that you see advertized in the back of car magazines cost? Thanks!

I have seen up to 9000 lb lifts on Ebay for 1,400 to 1,800 depending on heights and style.

A decent lift should be less than $5000 installed. Of course I'm talking about a REAL lift, not one like those cheap-ass things you see in some magazines. I'm not sure I'd trust those for anything other than lifting a small car so you can park another under it. If you want to have a lift for doing work on a full-size car, I'd suggest something a little more substantial.

Really depends on the lift...

An above ground lift is typically the cheapest to install... Only have to bolt it to the floor and then run electric to it... An install for that type is typically $500.00 or less...

Total cost for us to have a lift installed is around $3,500 to $4,000 for a twin post above ground lift.
