GM Insider says 2008 CTS-V will get LS7 engine. I wonder if they'll fix the wheel hop by then?

AAARRRRGGGGGG!!!! More european, I don't need. :thehand:

I 'm glad I have the current body style. Trust me, one day this car, with this body, sold at it's current quantities will be a high dollar collectors item.

The LS7 is a very nice feature though.

that is 4 months old. old news, and i don't think you will ever see an LS7 in a CTS-V. too much $$$. a 6.2L LS3 is much more likely. in the escalade it make 400hp. i imagine a 450hp version is what we will get. cadillac got us away from a gas guzzler tax and i doubt they are in a hurry to get the V back on that. an LS7 in a V would get maybe 12 mpg in the city...

The LS3 is not going in the Escalade. The L92 motor is going in the Escalade. The LS3 will be used in base model Corvettes, and will make about 50hp more than the L92 motor being used in the Escalade.

The L92 motor compared to the LS3 is like the current 6.0L truck motor in Escalades being compared to an LS2.

How do I stop the uncontrollable drooling? I guess I'll have to get one.

I want one but I am real hesitant to buy the first year of any car.

I don't really want to wait three years either, so I mod away....:dammit:

If the CTS-V remains the "entry level" hot rod in Cadillacs' line, then I would expect the L7 in a future reiteration.

However, it wouldn't suprise me if some beancounter gets his way and makes them use the same diff!:tisk:  :thepan:

sorry my bad, i didn't clarify that escalade is not getting the LS3, but there are similarities between the truck engines and the LSX engines. which is why the 5.3L truck heads bolted up to the LSX engines. my line of thinking is more towards the direction the general will head with the next LSX motor. or i am the only that sees at is a coincedence that LS2 shows up after the 6.0L truck engine, and now we have a 6.2L motor in an escalade, that we know is the size for the next vette...

Yes there is a reason for all that you mentioned, the sharing of parts dramatically cuts down on GM's production costs.

I kind of like it.

And dont look now, but other manufacturers are copying the Bangle Bimmers. Looks like he was not an idiot after all. Did you see the new S class? Looks like a 7 series.

I could be wrong but it looks identical to 04-06 minus the front end?

Looks great! Maybe I just will buy a GM again if I can get a car that looks like that and has an LS7 in it.

Bad design is bad design no matter who copies it. Therefore, he is still an idiot. I'm so sick of the luxury makes copying the hideous Bangleized Bimmers. They remind me of the old Hyundai Sonatas.

It looks like a the BLS and the new STS had intercourse and this is their offspring...see that happens when line models start to fraternize.

It has lost its keen edge, which makes the first generation CTS so desirable.

Anyone save the old GMinsidernews that said the CTS-V would get the LS7 in 2006 or 2007?

From what I am hearing is that the LS7 may be replaced by then. I wonder if GM is going to use the last batch for the V's like they did the LS6.

So the V is a little porkier than the Vette! Add 6/10th's

If I were to replace the V, it wouldn't be with the one in this thread. I'd rather keep my V. However, if I didn't need a 4 door, I'd really look into a C6 Z06 in white. I saw a basic C6 in white, red leather, exterior badges in red, convertible black top, and had red 20" wheels in front and 22" wheels in back. They had a chrome lip and center cap. That thing screamed, "I'm HOT and FAST!" :D

Chris Bangle strikes again. Just like the Mangle series, they will have to put some serious HP in there to get us to overlook the redesign.

Everyone.... the images above of the supposed 2008 are a photochop. I saw those months ago. The story is that it is a BLS body style with a crafted front end. The new CTS will not look anything like that.

Stay tuned
